(July 15, 2010- Los Angeles, CA) – La-La Land Records announces three special releases, available at their booth at San Diego’s Comic Con on July 21-25 (including preview night): Predators (John Debney), and two 2CD sets: Batman: Limited Edition (Danny Elfman ) and Krull: Limited Edition (James Horner). All three recordings will be available via LA LA LAND RECORDS, Film Scores, Music Scores, Film Music,Film Composers,MovieMusic, Composers, Film Composers, Movie Composers, Soundtrack Composers on July 27th but you can grab them first at THE CON! In addition to these premiere releases, there will be special appearances and great deals on La-La Land Records soundtracks at their display, housed at the Toy Hungry booth, space #429.

Guest composers will be stopping by the La-La Land area to greet fans and sign CDs. Newly Emmy Award® nominated composer Bear McCreary (Caprica, Battlestar Galactica, Human Target) will kick things off from 4-5PM on Thursday. As part of our Expanded Archival Collection, La-La Land Records presents the World premiere release of the film version of Danny Elfman’s acclaimed original score to the 1989 Warner Bros. blockbuster BATMAN, starring Jack Nicholson, Michael Keaton and Kim Basinger and directed by Tim Burton. With a running time of 144 minutes, this 2-CD SET, produced by Dan Goldwasser, Neil S. Bulk and MV Gerhard, and remastered by James Nelson, features the previously unreleased film version (mix/edit) of Mr. Elfman’s score, as well as a remastered presentation of the 1989 soundtrack album and never-before-released Bonus Tracks. 20 Page CD Booklet features in-depth liner notes by Jeff Bond. ABOUT THIS RELEASE: In order to present as much music as possible from Batman in the best possible quality, multiple sources were utilized with the best-quality elements selected for each cue on an individual basis. For disc one and the bonus cues on disc two, three sources were used: Eric Tomlinson’s 35mm 4-track mixes, 1/4 inch stereo mixes and a stereo 35mm music only track. The album cues on disc two were sourced from the original digital album master featuring Shawn Murphy’s stereo album mix.

Beim Fledermausmann reicht mir das alte Album. Und wegen dreier Bonustitel werde ich mir sicherlich nicht noch einmal ein KRULL-Doppelalbum zulegen. Aber ich freue mich für diejenigen, die diesen fantastischen Horner noch nicht besitzen. Heili rekommändett!

Genau deswegen freue ich mich, weil ich diese tolle Musik schon lange haben wollte.

Das Super-Tracks-Album steht noch verschweißt bei mir rum...überlege gerade, ob ich mir die Lalaland-Version auch noch zulegen sollte. Die Musik soll ja wirklich toll sein, ich kenne den Film nur noch nicht.
"Batman" ist natürlich auch vorgemerkt aber auf Grund der hohen Limitierung wird der mir noch einige Wochen Bedenkzeit lassen. So langsam wird Lalaland aber das am Meisten vertretene Label auf meiner Wunschliste mit "The Edge", "ID4", "Dragonslayer" und jetzt diesem Wurf.

Ich habe seinerzeit mal in das supertracks release zu krull reingehört und der klang war schon ziemlich unterirdisch weil viel zu schrill. Da waren mir die 50 $ dann doch immer zuviel des guten, zumal über den supertracks immer auch der geruch der bootlegs schwebte (das war ja nie klar ob das promos, bootlegs oder offizielle releases sind). Insofern werde ich bei diesem (re-)release zuschlagen. Batman fehlt mir auch noch und deshalb sind beide mal wieder gekauft.

MV schreibt im FSM forum, dass es keine autogramme zu batman und krull geben wird, dafür aber zu predators.

Außerdem hier noch seine begründung für das krull re-release:

Regarding Krull, we did it for 5 reasons:

1. It was OOP
2. Sony said "Hell Yeah!"
3. The Supertracks one was $40... this version will be $19.98
4. Jeff Bond's new Liner Notes
5. To replace that damn ugly 2 disc clamshell box. UGH! I hated those things for 2 disc sets!

As for the sound, it sounds better, but not it's a great leap in technology. If you have the other version and you have the extra dollars then pick this one up. If you don't have the other one, then buy this Horner masterpiece asap! It's one of his greatest scores EVER!

Das mit dem "greatest score EVER" bei krull ist übrigens keine übertreibung. Vergleicht man das was horner da abfeuert mal mit avatar, karate kid oder dergleichen dann wird schnell klar warum. Ob das alles nicht schonmal da war sei mal dahingestellt.

Hab das Supertracks Album von Krull auch. Finde den Klang eigentlich nicht unterirdisch...
Ich bin zumindest zufrieden damit und werde mir das Geld sparen.

Und bei Batman reicht mir wie gesagt das alte Album ebenfalls.

Erst vor einem Monat habe ich mich gefragt, ob nicht eines der Label mal Krull veröffentlichen könnte, da ich diesen Score noch nicht mein Eigen nennen kann und siehe da, La La Land erhört mich!

Übrigens sind es nur 2 Bonus Tracks ... das "Love Theme" war bereits am Ende der ersten CD zu hören ... und wenn man es genau nimmt gibt es eigentlich nur ein Bonustitel denn "The Walk to the Seer's Cave" ist nur eine verkürzte Version

Aber das beste ist:

Ich freue mich schon sehr darauf endlich eines der besten James Horner Scores mein eigen nennen zu dürfen!

Das will ich hoffen. Für mich ist da bisher gar nichts dabei und dabei hatte ich im Freudentaumel schon mein altes ST V-Album für 1€ zum Verkauf angeboten.

Ich bin eher über KRULL verwundert. Ich hätte gedacht, dass das nun wirklich jeder hat, den es irgendwie interessiert. Immerhin gibt es bisher 3 VÖ's davon. Aber da hatten sie wohl ein gutes Näschen bei LalaLand.
