  1. THE WAR OF THE WORLDS 70th ANNIVERSARY / WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE: EXPANDED AND REMASTERED LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1630 Music by Leith Stevens Limited Edition of 1000 Units RETAIL PRICE: $21.98 STARTS SHIPPING SEPT 5 Order yours at www.lalalandrecords.com starting Sept. 5 at 12noon (pst) La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures proudly mark the 70th Anniversary of the landmark 1953 sci-fi thriller THE WAR OF THE WORLDS with an expanded and remastered CD re-issue of renowned composer Leith Stevens’ (DESTINATION MOON, TV’s VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, LAND OF THE GIANTS) original THE WAR OF THE WORLDS motion picture score. This limited edition release also includes the composer’s score to the 1951 feature film WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE. Both films were produced by legendary fantasy film producer Geroge Pal. Leith Stevens’ powerful and notable orchestral scores for both big-screen spectacles were incredibly ground-breaking and influential - among the first to define the music sound of big-budget, color science fiction feature films. Now these important works sound better than ever before, as technological advancements made it possible for re-issue co-producer Chris Malone to revisit to the original acetate transfers and improve the sonic quality of the cues, as well as expanding the presentation with previously unreleased Bonus Tracks from both scores that were deemed unusable in the past. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and Chris Malone, and restored and mastered by Malone, this limited edition CD release of 1000 units includes exclusive, in-depth liner notes by writer John Takis and Goldwasser’s sharp art direction features an out-of-this world reversible cover! 3. By now everyone should know, John Carpenter is not only a celebrated filmmaker but also a musical maestro whose soundtracks have become synonymous with the genres of horror, suspense, and science fiction. Anthology II (Movie Themes 1976-1988) continues the celebration of his compositional genius via an excellently sequenced collection of some of his most iconic pieces of music from his extensive filmography, all newly recorded with his musical collaborators Daniel Davies and Cody Carpenter. The compilation includes selections from Escape From New York, Big Trouble in Little China, The Thing, They Live, Assault on Precinct 13, Prince of Darkness, The Fog, Halloween (and its sequels), and beyond. Among its highlights are the three lost cues from The Thing, previously unreleased and now re-recorded. The Thing marks one of the rare occasions that John Carpenter stepped away from scoring duties and entrusted the task to another composer, the legendary Ennio Morricone. Upon receiving Morricone’s score Carpenter felt that the film would benefit from the inclusion of additional music and took the initiative to record and insert multiple synth driven cues. Anthology II (Movie Themes 1976-1988) represents just a fraction of John Carpenter's impressive musical repertoire. His ability to capture the essence of his films through evocative melodies, atmospheric soundscapes, and innovative use of synths has solidified his status as one of the most influential composers in the history of cinema. With each haunting note and pulsating beat, his soundtracks continue to resonate with audiences, forever etching his name in the annals of film music history. Track listing: 1.
Varèse Sarabande returns to the “scene of the crime” of one of the most storied filmmaker–composer relationships in history: Blood Simple, the debut film, score and collaboration between Joel and Ethan Coen and Carter Burwell. Now, 40 years after its 1983 recording, Carter Burwell has produced a new mix and album of Blood Simple. featuring 13 tracks and 35 minutes from the original multitrack session tapes. 7. Varèse Sarabande revisits a classic horror soundtrack from its early catalog with April Fool’s Day, the 1986 black comedy/horror slasher film directed by Fred Walton and scored by Charles Bernstein. Thomas F. Wilson, Deborah Foreman, Clayton Rohner and other familiar faces from the 1980s star as college friends whose spring break trip to an island mansion unfortunately coincides with April Fool’s Day. Innocent pranks lead to a steadily rising body count as murders decimate the group—with a surprising twist climax. Bernstein found an unusual challenge in April Fool’s Day, which needed to evoke the slasher genre, but also have an element of “winking” to its audience. “We’re having fun with the horror genre—but it’s not a horror movie,” he says in the new liner notes by Brian Satterwhite. “My challenge was how to score a movie that wasn’t a horror movie but used horror tropes.” April Fool’s Day was released on LP (and later CD) by Varèse Sarabande, in a synthesized performance not heard in the film itself. That 20-track, 30-minute synth program is included on this Deluxe Edition, along with the long-awaited premiere release of the actual orchestral recording heard in the film (23 tracks, 27 minutes), plus previously unreleased bonus tracks. 8. Und die „Rob Zombie Presents"-Reihe geht weiter: Rob Zombie and Waxwork Records have partnered to release an exclusive, curated line of classic Horror movie soundtracks. “Rob Zombie Presents” features several never-before-released film soundtracks that were personally selected by the singer, songwriter, and filmmaker. “I have always been a huge fan of movie soundtracks. So I jumped at the opportunity to work with Waxwork on this project.” Says Zombie, “I can’t wait to release these albums. So many of these films are greatly under appreciated and, they all contain such great music. So, to be able to release these deluxe packages is a dream come true.“ - Rob Zombie Rob Zombie and Waxwork Records are thrilled to announce “Rob Zombie Presents CARNIVAL OF SOULS Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Gene Moore". Starring Candace Hilligoss, CARNIVAL OF SOULS is a 1962 American psychological Horror film directed by Herk Harvey. The plot follows a young woman whose life is disturbed after becoming the sole survivor of a car accident. Trying to put the incident behind her, she moves to Utah to take up a job as a church organist. Unable to assimilate with the locals, her life is soon interrupted by visions of a ghoulish stranger. As her visions become more frequent, she finds herself strangely drawn to an abandoned carnival on the outskirts of town. The alluring, deserted carnival may hold the secret to her tragic past. CARNIVAL OF SOULS features an organ score by Gene Moore. Employing various guerrilla filmmaking techniques and shot on a shoestring budget of only $33,000, CARNIVAL OF SOULS has become a cult classic and has been praised by critics and film scholars for its cinematography and its stark, foreboding atmosphere. Waxwork worked closely with the owners of the original CARNIVAL OF SOULS film elements which have been restored by and archived in the vaults of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. AMPAS restored the soundtrack from the film's original soundtrack negative, allowing the holders of this historical film to provide Waxwork with the best possible source material. This special release marks the first, official CARNIVAL OF SOULS soundtrack album. In addition to the original soundtrack, this release features segments of dialogue and sound effects eloquently and tastefully included, all sourced from the restored original soundtrack negative. After working together on the successful release of the official soundtracks to Zombie’s films House of 1000 Corpses, The Devils Rejects, 3 From Hell, The Lords of Salem, Halloween 1 & 2, and The Munsters, Zombie explored other ways to collaborate with Waxwork in an effort to unearth, re-master, and release classic, left-of-center Horror soundtracks from films that he is a lifelong fan of. The line of soundtracks features deluxe packaging, heavyweight colored vinyl, new artwork by prominent Horror illustrator Graham Humphreys, liner notes and interviews conducted by Rob Zombie with filmmakers and actors. Titles include premiere releases of White Zombie, Spider Baby, Carnival Of Souls, The Last Man On Earth, The House On Haunted Hill, Island Of Lost Souls, and many selections from the HAMMER film library. 11. Wow! Desplat hat echt Humor. Ein typischer Wes Anderson-Score. Mir gefiel Grand Budapest Hotel wirklich extrem gut.

Folgen sollen wohl noch Spider Baby, Carnival Of Souls, The Last Man On Earth, The House On Haunted Hill, Island Of Lost Souls und viele andere Titel aus dem Archiv der Hammer-Studios. Rob Zombie and Waxwork Records have partnered to release an exclusive, curated line of classic Horror movie soundtracks. “Rob Zombie Presents” will feature several never-before-released film soundtracks that were personally selected by the singer, songwriter, and filmmaker. “I have always been a huge fan of movie soundtracks. So, to be able to release these deluxe packages is a dream come true.“ - Rob Zombie Rob Zombie and Waxwork are thrilled to announce their first soundtrack title as “Rob Zombie Presents WHITE ZOMBIE”. Starring Bela Lugosi, 1932’s WHITE ZOMBIE is considered the first zombie movie. It was also filmed on Universal Studio’s lot, using several props from other horror films of that time. Starring Madge Bellamy, Robert W. Frazer, and John Harron, the film follows the cast as they navigate zombies, love, obsession, and treachery. Initially slammed by critics upon its release, the movie has been reevaluated and praised by recent critics for its classic horror production. The film has gone on to influence mainstream media, even influencing the band name of White Zombie. Rob Zombie has said of the film, “It’s a great film that not a lot of people know about. It amazes me that a film that is so readily available can be so lost.” After working together on the successful release of the official soundtracks to Zombie’s films House of 1000 Corpses, The Devils Rejects, 3 From Hell, The Lords of Salem, Halloween 1 & 2, and The Munsters, Zombie explored other ways to collaborate with Waxwork in an effort to unearth, re-master, and release classic, left-of-center Horror soundtracks from films that he is a life-long fan of. 20.
