Ich wollte damals auch wissen warum "The Mission" abgewertet wurde (ka wer das damals war) - einer der größten Scores der 80ger überhaupt - da sind sich wohl sämtliche Kritiker einig - da gabs gemaule weil ich fragte und keine antwort.
Aber bitte: Barsottis score ist für MICH der schwächste der Liste (Public Eye kenn ich nicht) - T. Newman Kopie, obwohl eine ansprechende Kopie

ON THE BEACH gehört zum Besten, was TV-Scoring zu bieten hat. Eine reichhaltige, opulente großorchestrale Musik mit herrlichem Liebesthema und den Gordon-typischen kompositorischen Finessen. Wenn Gordon mit so einer Musik (endlich mal) nach Hollywood kommen würde... er hätte die Traumfabrik im Sturm erorbert und John Williams als Maestro recht schnell vom Thron gestoßen. Kompositorisch ist er der momentan einzige mir bekannte Filmkomponist, der es mit den Besten der Besten aufnehmen kann.
