    Tales From The Darkside The Movie von Waxwork Records

     

    Waxwork Records proudly presents the expanded and deluxe soundtrack release to TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE THE MOVIE. This classic anthology horror film released in 1990 features many big name acting talents such as Debbie Harry, Christian Slater, Steve Buscemi, David Johansen, and James Remar. John Harrison (Creepshow) acted as both the film’s director and the soundtrack’s composer. The film was written by George A. Romero (Night Of The Living Dead) and Stephen King. TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE THE MOVIE has been referred to as “ The Real Creepshow 3” by horror movie special effects legend, Tom Savini (Dawn Of The Dead, From Dusk Till Dawn).

    For this expanded, definitive soundtrack release, Waxwork Records worked closely with John Harrison to track down the original master tapes in the Paramount Pictures vault. Upon locating them, Waxwork faithfully restored and remastered the entire soundtrack for vinyl. Much of the music contained in this new release does not appear on the original 1990 album which is now out of print and has become a collector’s item amongst both horror fans and record collectors.

    Fans of horror movies and synth heavy scores will find Waxwork’s TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE THE MOVIE vinyl release right at home in their spider web encrusted record collection.

    Art duties were tackled by Australian illustrator, Rhys Cooper.

    Wobei man überlegen müsste, ob CLEOPATRA nicht auch mit SINUHE DER ÄGYPTER und LAND DER PHARAONEN zu den Ägypten- und nicht zu den Römerfilmen zählt.

    ... na mindestens fifty-fifty, Julius Cäsar und Marcus Antonius sind ja wohl die Römer schlechthin ;)

    Apropos Römer, wurde Julius Caesar von Miklos Rozsa schon erwähnt .....

Ihm geht es um jene Botschaft abseits des glamourösen Hollywood-Emblems und um die Aufdeckung durchaus tragischer Begleitumstände, die zu dieser Musik geführt haben . . . wenn an anderer Stelle Max Raabes wohlvertraute Nostalgiestimme erklingt, nämlich in Kurt Weills "Speak Low", dann erhält auch das plötzlich ein ganz anderes Gewicht -- dank der Person Daniel Hopes, der hier wieder einmal in einer Doppelrolle agiert: als begnadeter Geigeninterpret und im Begleitheft als verbaler Mittler. Ein durchaus nachdenklich stimmendes Hollywood-Album!

Der prominenteste ist Erich Wolfgang Korngold, der mit seinem Violinkonzert ein Meisterwerk schuf. Hope ist sehr vertraut mit dem Stück, er stürzt sich hinein in diese klangberstende Partitur, die Korngold so effektvoll aus Material seiner Filmmusiken geformt hat . . .

Broadcast as a TV special on ITV over Christmas 2015, Peter and Wendy is
a re-imagining of J.M. Barrie’s much loved classic novel Peter Pan. Written
by BAFTA winning screenwriter Adrian Hodges and directed by BAFTA
winning director Diarmuid Lawrence, the story is retold through the
imagination of a young girl named Lucy who is about to receive hospital
treatment for a serious heart condition. The film establishes a dramatic
connection with Great Ormond Street, the world famous children's
hospital that has become irrevocably associated with Peter Pan.
An emerging TV composer, Maurizio Malagnini’s music spans drama,
animation and documentaries. His work is being broadcast internationally
on major UK and European networks - the BBC, ITV, MTV, SKY and RAI and
he is best known for his lyrical scores to BBC’s The Paradise, Call the
Midwife, The Body Farm and Waking The Dead. The Paradise was
broadcast in 132 territories and earned Malagnini international
recognition, including three Music+Sound Awards and, in 2015, his
first EMMY® Award Nomination.

  24. Videogame - Beste Videogame Soundtracks

    … tatsächlich, man lernt nie aus  …

    Seit Tagen spielt mein Sohn wie ein Besessener ein neues Game. Last of Us.

    Und des öfteren hörte ich Stücke des Soundtracks.

    Irgendwann habe ich mich dazugesetzt, und einfach nur mal zugehört.

    Wow, mal davon abgesehen, daß das Spiel wirklich toll ist, hat mich der Score begeistert. Richtig gut.

    Hätte nie für möglich gehalten, das für „Spiele“ wirklich Kompositionen solcher Qualität gefertigt werden …

    Wenn es mal einen dazu passenden Spielfilm geben sollte, wird hoffentlich Gustavo Santaolalla der Maestro sein.

     

     

    Du musst Dir mal den Main Title des DLCs Left Behind anhören, der ist auch klasse!
