Robert Townson sagte es am schönsten in seiner Widmung:
His was a big life. A grand adventure. Those of us who were lucky enough to experience it with him had the time of our lives.
The shock of losing Jerry has been very difficult. But as that shock segues into the much harsher reality that he simply wont ever again be on the other end of the phone asking me what Im listening to or what Im working on, and that Ill never again get to see him mount a podium in front of a hundred adoring musicians, that I wont get to travel with him to London or Glasgow again, and that Ill never again get to leave for a recording studio with the anticipation of a new Jerry Goldsmith score ahead of me, there is an enormous void that will just never be filled.
Jerrys music has made us all cry, at one time or another. But the tears we shed last week and the hurt we continue to feel, are for a fallen friend. Even in silence, our hearts are always filled with music and with love for Jerry Goldsmith.
