  2. Auch dieses Jahr haben Howlin' Wolf Records zu Halloween einen thematisch passenden Score veröffentlicht: 10 / 31 Part 3 von Rocky Gray.

Howlin' Wolf Records proudly presents Rocky Gray's score for 10/31 PART III, the third installment in the gruesomely popular 10/31 Anthology Series, with segments directed by renowned cult-cinema directors Michael Ballif (THE WITCHING SEASON, THEY LIVE INSIDE US), Jacob Perrett (WEIRD FICTION, CREATURE IN THE DARK), Brad Twigg (KILLER CAMPOUT, SHRIEKSHOW), Zane Hershberger (FORCE TO FEAR, and 10/31 PART II segment "Treaters"). 10/31 PART III is a perfectly eerie companion to create your own spooky Halloween ambiance. The soundtrack pays homage to great synth scores from the '80s accented by flourishes harkening back to scores by Italian progressive rock icons Goblin and Fabio Frizzi.

Rocky Gray is an award-winning composer of over 30 features, shorts, and video games. An accomplished musician, he was the original drummer for the multi-platinum goth rock band Evanescence, and later drummer and lead guitarist for We Are The Fallen and Living Sacrifice, respectively. He most recently earned raved reviews and a "Best Score" win for THE BARN II at the 2022 GenreBlast Film Festival.

10/31 PART III is beautifully packaged in a jewel case with a 24-page booklet including a foreword by film music journalist John Mansell and notes from segment directors (Ballif, Perrett, Twigg, Hershberger) and composer Rocky Gray, all presented against a frighteningly colorful web of All Hallows' Eve imagery with jack-o-lanterns, witches, bats, monsters, and demons. The booklet features original cover artwork by Gaz Jackson at Sinister Arts and beautiful packaging designs by Howlin' Wolf Records' acclaimed Art Director, Luis Miguel Rojas.

Master of Polish film music, known, among others from the music to both parts of the film "Vabank" or "Sexmission" in the most uncompromising edition. "» Anna «and the vampire" is a dark search in ambient and industrial circles. A fascinating study of how to paint a fog with sound. Original soundtrack from 1981 plus a contemporary postscript made by Henryk Kuźniak in 2022 on the album.

In the early 1980s, Janusz Kidawa, a respected documentary filmmaker, made a feature film about the case of the Vampire from Zagłębie. Dark, hard to read, although for some people a cult image intrigued by the use of original materials from the investigation and melted the entire narrative in low-suspended mists. Kidaw invited Henryk Kuźniak to prepare the music, with whom they knew each other very well from their work at the Documentary and Feature Film Studio in Warsaw. It is difficult to call what Henryk Kuźniak prepared for the needs of "Anna and the Vampire" as film music in the strict sense. It is a Polish search on the border of ambient and industrial - and all this before these notions were even more widely used in our country. A sound design that paints over with sound what the image could not convey to the director in the fog of screens.

The material was remastered from the original tape from the composer's archive. The program of the album was complemented by a contemporary composition, made in 2022, which is a tribute to the victims of the Vampire. The booklet contains extensive text about the film and music, as well as photos from the set.

    Newly remastered edition.
8-page CD booklet with French and English liner notes by Nicolas Magenham.
    Limited Edition of 350 units.

In collaboration with Yad Music, Music Box Records proudly presents two original motion picture soundtracks composed by Gabriel Yared in the 1980s: La Scarlatine (Scarlet Fever, 1983) and Tir à vue (Fire on Sight, 1984).

La Scarlatine, the first feature film directed by Gabriel Aghion, tells the story of a ten-year-old boy, surrounded by an almost exclusively female environment, changes when his mother meets a man. The score composed by Gabriel Yared mixes several moods: pre-war jazzy style, soul song, an electronic 80’s vibe and some romantic pieces in keeping with the spirit of this decrepit, once-luxurious house. The album also features the premiere release of Tir à vue, a movie directed by Marc Angelo, about two young deliquents committing robbery and murder. Programmed by his faithful collaborator Georges Rodi, Gabriel Yared’s music for this film mostly relies on synthesizers and other beatboxes that give it a very urban tone.

Supervised by Gabriel Yared, this present edition has been fully remastered from complete scoring session elements. The package includes a 8-page booklet featuring exclusive liner notes by writer Nicolas Magenham, discussing the films and the scores. This is a limited edition of 350 units.

BSX Records presents the original motion picture soundtrack to ZEUS AND ROXANNE, featuring music composed by Bruce Rowland (THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER, PHAR LAP, ANDRE) for the 1997 family adventure film directed by George Miller (ANZACS, THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER, ALL THE RIVERS RUN), written by Tom Benedek (COCOON), starring Steve Guttenberg, Kathleen Quinlan, Miko Hughes and Arnold Vosloo.

ZEUS AND ROXANNE revolves around the friendship between a dog, Zeus, and a dolphin, Roxanne. One morning, Zeus goes to the pier, spots a dolphin, and becomes fascinated by it. He returns home to his owner, Terry (Guttenberg), and his son, Jordan (Hughes). Later that morning, Zeus chases a cat and subsequently destroys the garden of Mary Beth (Quinlan), a marine biologist and their next-door neighbor. Terry calms Zeus down and apologizes to Mary Beth.

Mary Beth goes to her workplace and is followed by Zeus, who notices her photo of the same dolphin from earlier. Upon arriving, she is met by her partner, Becky, and her rival, Claude (Vosloo). Mary Beth and Becky travel out on a boat to follow the dolphin they are researching, whom they have named Roxanne, and Zeus stows away on the boat. While they are out to sea, Zeus slips off the boat. Roxanne saves him from a shark and gives him a ride back to the boat on her back, which surprises and fascinates Mary Beth and Becky, who find that Zeus and Roxanne are able to communicate with each other.

Returning home, Mary Beth asks Jordan if she can borrow Zeus for her research on Roxanne, who she hopes to release back into the wild. Jordan agrees, and he and Terry accompany her on her research. As time passes, Terry begins to fall in love with Mary Beth as he manages to find inspiration for his music, while Jordan bonds with her daughters.

Bruce Rowland’s fascination with music began as a child. He grew up in a musical household in Melbourne, and as a teenager studied piano and played with various pop bands. He worked with pop group The Strangers during the 1960s, and toured with international artists including Roy Orbison and The Beach Boys. Bruce developed much of his early skill as a composer on the popular teenage television series THE GO SHOW, where he was responsible for playing keyboard and writing arrangements for guest artists including Olivia Newton-John and Billy Thorpe. Later, he worked for five years as the composer for children’s television programs MAGIC CIRCLE CLUB and ADVENTURE ISLAND. His career spans a multitude of motion pictures, cable movies, mini-series, series, animations and special live events. Bruce is the proud recipient of multiple awards, including a 2006 APRA International Achievement Award for his services to film. In 2000, Bruce wrote and conducted the music for the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games, which included a special rendition of Bruce’s score for THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER.

Previously released on compact disc in 2001, BSX Records brings ZEUS AND ROXANNE back to the marketplace newly remastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland for improved sound quality.

From death defying heroics to fantastic visions of the future and adventures beyond imagination. For decades the world has been enthralled by the television and film productions of Gerry Anderson. Perhaps the one thing which binds this remarkable canon of work together is an incredible tapestry of music which enriches each series and instalment. Despite all the impressive techniques and technical wizardry employed by Derek Meddings and his special effects crew, Stingray’s launch wouldn't have half the impact if robbed of Barry Gray’s sweeping crescendo. Similarly, the ponderous ache of the Alphans plight and a police cruiser chase in Demeter City are brought to life by their respective musical accompaniments. The Stand By For Action! concert in April 2022 was a celebration of this incredible body of music which helped to bring life to some of the most popular television series ever made. This sensational show transported fans through over 60 years of the Gerry Anderson back catalogue, paying homage to his special partnership with composers including Barry Gray, Richard Harvey and Crispin Merrell.

The iconic theme tunes and incidental music from classic Anderson shows – including Thunderbirds, Space: 1999, Captain Scarlet and UFO – all feature alongside that of his earliest work like The Adventures of Twizzle, Torchy the Battery Boy and Feather Falls, right through to Terrahawks, Space Precinct and his final production: New Captain Scarlet.

Not at all dangerous, but no less powerful and devoted to one another, the Coppola family have loomed large in film and the arts for decades. The head of this particular family was not a Don lurking in the shadows, but a brilliant composer arranger and conductor: Carmine Coppola. On the face of it, this album is a bit of a curiosity, though it was surely the first recording to bring together music from both Godfather films in this way. Its original release coincided with a high-profile television event called The Godfather: A Novel for Television (also known as The Godfather Saga).

The extended cut necessarily featured additional music and arrangements, which were overseen by Carmine Coppola. We can safely assume that at least some of that forms part of what is included in The Godfather Suite. For it, Coppola selected and re-arranged musical highlights from the two films, including all of Rota’s main themes and his own source music pieces, creating what is essentially a 14-part symphonic suite.

It’s all rather beautifully executed, with great romantic flourishes, and it’s a fitting tribute to Carmine Coppola’s talent, not to mention his contribution to two legendary films. Carmine Coppola himself passed away just months after the release of The Godfather Part III. A highlight of that final score is the ‘Love Theme’, which was the basis of Carmine Coppola and lyricist John Bettis’s Oscar-nominated original song ‘Promise Me You’ll Remember’. The instrumental arrangement is included here in addition to the Suite.

    Morricone Segreto N°4 - Quando l’Amore è Sensualità” (1973)

For the first time ever on CD.

One of the Maestro’s most obscure, psychedelic and dark-tinged soundtracks. Still unpublished in its entirety, the score is the manifesto of the Morricone Segreto series, featuring tonal experiments, timbric intuitions, enigmatic synths, obsessive lullabies, tribal drum beats and an overall compositional complexity showing the unrivaled genius of Ennio Morricone. Originally composed for Vittorio De Sisti’s “Quando l’Amore è Sensualità”, the music masterfully mirrors the bloody and lustful bourgeois hypocrisy portrayed in the cult film, thanks to a striking contrast between haunting primitive sounds (representing the male fury) and uplifting, crystalline and ethereal elements (symbolising the feminine innocence). The score features “Vie-Ni”, one of the most loved cuts from CAM Sugar “Morricone Segreto” collection, next to compositions featuring the whimsical and ethereal vocals by Edda Dell’Orso and furious psych-prog numbers embodying the most ‘segreto’ side of the Maestro.

Out on November 10th fully remastered from the CAM Sugar archive.

For the first time on CD... ja, sicher... ^^

8-page CD booklet including statements from director Christian Carion and composer Philippe Rombi.

In collaboration with Une Hirondelle Productions and Pathé Films, Music Box Records presents the new score composed by acclaimed composer Philippe Rombi (Swimming Pool, Black Box). Une belle course (Driving Madeleine, 2022), directed by Christian Carion (Merry Christmas, My Son), stars Line Renaud and Dany Boon.

Madeleine (Line Renaud), 92 years old, calls a taxi to take her to the retirement home where she will be living. Charles (Dany Boon), a disillusioned driver with a tender heart, agrees to drive by the places that affected Madeleine’s life. Through the streets of Paris, her extraordinary past is revealed. They don’t know it yet, but they will forge a friendship during this drive that will change their lives forever.

Une belle course is the third collaboration between director Christian Carion and composer Philippe Rombi after The Girl from Paris and Merry Christmas. For this drama, Philippe Rombi composed a poignant orchestral score with electronic textures, both delicate (with a main theme played on a trumpet) and disturbing (with dark strings bringing the flavor of Bernard Herrmann to his score), to evoke the memories of Madeleine's life.

Une belle course is released in French theaters in September 21, 2022.

Quartet Records, in collaboration with Pentatone, presents the first album of classical works by Spanish composer Fernando Velázquez, best known for his orchestral soundtracks that have brought back the flavor of symphonic film music from past times.

Recorded with the Basque National Orchestra, the choir Kup Taldea and the prestigious international cellist Johannes Moser, Viento shows Velázquez’s skill in creating such genres as symphonic poems, cantatas and concertos.

The album opens with his cello concerto, which combines an elegiac opening movement with a heroic, rock-inspired middle movement and a finale that employs the Basque Zortziko dance rhythm. Moser’s masterly interpretation brings out all the colors of this exceptional score. The Cantata de Estío (Summer Cantata) was conceived as a companion piece to Beethoven’s Ninth to be performed prior to the symphony, sharing its scoring and key. Combining a Biblical text by King Solomon with poetry from the composer’s own father, José María Velázquez, the cantata celebrates the beauty and plenitude of nature and life as it explodes during summer. Viento del Oeste (West wind) contemplates a similar sensation, communicating those ineffable feelings that a perfect sunset can make us experience.

Overall, Viento is not only a glorification of sublime nature, but foremost an act of artistic liberation, for which Velázquez has written music that feels most beautiful and meaningful to him. The entire album has been recorded by Marc Blanes and mastered by Chris Malone.

  13. SAVAGE-GRACE.jpg

    Zitat

Quartet Records is proud to present a brand new recording of one of the very first scores by Fernando Velázquez, composed right after THE ORPHANAGE in 2007.

SAVAGE GRACE was a bizarre film directed by Tom Kallin and starring Academy Award winners Julianne Moore and Eddie Redmaine, and it tells the true story of the beautiful and charismatic but mentally unstable Barbara Daly, who married above her class to Brooks Baekeland, heir to the Bakelite plastics fortune. Their only child is a failure in his father’s eyes, and as he matures and becomes increasingly close to his alienated mother, the seeds for tragedy are sown.

In spite of being one of the composer’s favorite scores, from one of his most creative periods, the album was never released in part due to an unfortunate and problematic recording, which had to be produced quickly for budget reasons. Velázquez was never happy with the result, so that’s why we have decided to record it again—respecting the original orchestrations—this time with the Basque National Orchestra under the baton of the composer. The music is intensely romantic and bittersweet, with echoes of Impressionism and jazz.

The album also includes the original music composed by Fernando Velázquez for the theatre show THE SERVANT, by Harold Pinter, and also performed by the Basque National Orchestra.

Recorded by Marc Blanes and mastered by Chris Malone, the package includes an in-depth essay by film music writer Daniel Schweiger, including exclusive interviews with Tom Kallin and Fernando Velázquez.

Quartet Records, in collaboration with Netflix, presents the original soundtrack by acclaimed Spanish composer Fernando Velázquez (THE IMPOSSIBLE, A MONSTER CALLS, CRIMSON PEAK, HERCULES) for the Sci-Fi drama series ALMA (aka THE GIRL IN THE MIRROR) directed by Sergio G. Sánchez, a director with whom Velázquez had already worked on the film MARROWBONE.

The story is about Alma, who after surviving a bus accident in which almost all her classmates die, wakes up in a hospital with no memory of the incident … or of her past. Her home is full of memories that are not hers, and both amnesia and trauma cause her to experience night terrors and visions that she cannot clarify. With the help of her parents and friends, unknown to her, she will try to uncover the mystery surrounding the accident while struggling to recover her life and her identity.

The composer provides an intense, dramatic and highly vigorous score with thick orchestral colors, beautifully orchestrated for large orchestra and chorus, and featuring a haunting main theme. Performed by the Principado de Asturias Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the composer.

Dragon's Domain Records presents THE ALBERT GLASSER COLLECTION, VOLUME 5: SCIENCE FICTION ATOMIC MUTATION II. With this fifth collection of the composer's music, we are pleased to explore two more films that he scored for director Bert I. Gordon in 1957 and 1958. Most of Gordon's celebrated work was in the idiom of giant monster films. Albert Glasser consistently made musical magic out of limited resources and onrushing deadlines as one of Hollywood's most prolific B-movie composers. THE ALBERT GLASSER COLLECTION, VOLUME 5 features expanded releases of Glasser's music for THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN and WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST.

The years 1957-58 were Albert Glasser's busiest as a film composer, having scored fifteen B-movies that saw release in 1957, and ten in 1958. The films included Glasser's celebrated science fiction/monster films MONSTER FROM GREEN HELL, THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN in '57, and GIANT FROM THE UNKNOWN, ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE, WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST, and THE SPIDER from the following year, as well as a slew of Westerns, adventure sagas, crime, and juvenile gang movies.

Released in 1957, THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN was something of a reversal of the same year's INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN in which a man survives a plutonium explosion and grows 8 to 10 feet a day, finally reaching 60 feet tall. Both films tried to give their main characters an aura of tragic sympathy. Composer Hans Salter accomplished this in SHRINKING MAN through the use of a rhythmic melody, while Glasser uses a soft violin solo to provide a degree of pathos for the film's unfortunate protagonist.

THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN spawned a sequel, WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST releeased the following year, in which the Colossal Man is revealed to have survived falling off the Hoover Dam but is left disfigured and nearly mindless by the trauma of his fall as he runs amok again. Glasser's score follows the pattern of the first film, merging pathos for the man's condition while evoking terror for his violence.

Dragon's Domain Records presents THE ALBERT GLASSER COLLECTION VOLUME 5: SCIENCE FICTION ATOMIC MUTATION II, featuring original music composed by Albert Glasser for THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN and WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST, mastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland. The booklet contains liner notes written by noted film music journalist and author Randall D. Larson.

Dragon's Domain Records presents the original soundtrack for SYMPTOMS, featuring music composed and produced by John Scott (ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, GREYSTOKE: THE LEGEND OF TARZAN, THE FINAL COUNTDOWN, SHOOT TO KILL) for the 1974 British horror film co-written and directed by José Ramón Larraz (WHIRLPOOL, VAMPYRES, EDGE OF THE AXE), starring Lorna Helbron, Angela Pleasance, Ronald O'Neil, Peter Vaughan and Marie-Paule Mailleux.

Released in 1974, SYMPTOMS tells the story of Anne, a young writer (Heilbron) who is invited by her friend, Helen (Pleasence), to come visit in her large English country mansion. But the estate – and the increasingly unhinged Anne – turn out not to be what they seem. The stay is complicated by the recent disappearance of a mutual friend, Cora (Mailleux), Helen's jealousy over Anne's attraction to her ex-boyfriend John (O'Neil), and the gruff nature of the estate's handyman, Brady (Vaughan).

The unsettling tone, prompted by the film's atmosphere of quiet agitation and growing unease, is commendably supported by a provocative orchestral score by John Scott. Due to a severely limited budget, Scott created a potent and restless score using just ten musicians in total – flute, clarinet, piano, string quintet, harp, and a soprano voice.

For nearly sixty years, John Scott has established himself as one of the finest composers working in films today, having collaborated with the foremost producers and directors worldwide, including Richard Donner, Mark Damon, Hugh Hudson, Norman Jewison, Irvin Kershner, Daniel Petrie, Roger Spottiswoode and Charlton Heston, among others. He has been an essential voice in international scoring that thoroughly belies his occasional over-looked stature in the midst of 'brand name' composers. Frequently associated with Hollywood's finest composers, including Jerry Goldsmith, Elmer Bernstein and John Williams, John Scott has created a body of work that stands up as some of the finest music ever written for film. In addition to his orchestral and electronic film scores, Scott also maintained a long-running association with the French explorer Jacques Cousteau, composing music for more than a dozen TV documentary series from 1976 through 1994.

Dragon's Domain Records presents the world premiere compact disc release of SYMPTOMS, featuring music composed by John Scott, mastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland. The booklet contains liner notes written by noted author Randall Larson, with the participation of the composer.

Dragon's Domain Records presents CRAIG SAFAN: HORROR MACABRE VOLUME 1, featuring music composed by Craig Safan for two projects from his extensive filmography. CRAIG SAFAN: HORROR MACABRE VOLUME 1 includes music from DARKROOM, the short-lived horror anthology from 1981 along with Craig's score for his very first film, THE DEMON'S DAUGHTER.

DARKROOM was a weekly television series on ABC hosted by James Coburn in which two horrific tales unfolded back-to-back within its hour-long time slot. The show was conceived in the vein of other short horror-thriller programs such as ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS, THE TWILIGHT ZONE, THRILLER, THE OUTER LIMITS, and NIGHT GALLERY.

The bulk of the music for DARKROOM was composed by Safan who had already made a name for himself scoring THE GREAT TEXAS DYNAMITE CHASE and FADE TO BLACK and would further his prolific career by authoring beloved scores for THE LAST STARFIGHTER, REMO WILLIAMS: THE ADVENTURE BEGINS, THE LEGEND OF BILLIE JEAN, and all two-hundred and seventy-one episodes of the hit television series CHEERS. The original pilot episode of DARKROOM including the theme for the show was originally penned by David Shire (THE TAKING OF PELHAM ONE TWO THREE, RETURN TO OZ). Safan took over scoring duties beginning with the second episode.

THE DEMON'S DAUGHTER is the composer's first film score, written for an unreleased short film directed by a fledgling student from the American Film Institute named John McTiernan (DIE HARD, PREDATOR, THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER). Coming from a world of writing pop songs, Safan had never composed a film score before. As soon as he got his taste, he knew he had found his calling.

Emmy-nominated and eight-time ASCAP award-winning composer Craig Safan has scored more than one hundred feature films, television and documentaries, has had more than 50 soundtrack albums of his music produced, as well as having three original albums of his own impressionistic music released. He's been commissioned to compose for ballet as well as for live performance of silent films and was given the Poledouris Film Music Legend Award at the 2014 International Film Music Festival in Cordoba, Spain.

Dragon's Domain Records presents CRAIG SAFAN: HORROR MACABRE VOLUME 1, feaaturing the premiere release of his music for DARKROOM and THE DEMON'S DAUGHTER on compact disc, featuring Craig Safan's music mastered by James Nelson of Digital Outland. The booklet contains liner notes written by author and composer Brian Satterwhite and includes comments from the composer.

Music Box Records presents on the same CD two original motion picture soundtracks for Jacques Deray's films composed and conducted by Claude Bolling: On ne meurt que deux fois (He Died with His Eyes Open, 1985) and Netchaïev est de retour (Netchaïev Is Back, 1991).

Adapted from Robin Cook's novel by Michel Audiard, On ne meurt que deux fois tells the story of Detective Staniland (Michel Serrault) investigating the death of a pianist. While conducting his investigation, he meets Barbara (Charlotte Rambling), the mistress of the murder victim who confesses to the crime. In order to translate the mystery surrounding Serrault and Rampling’s characters, Bolling naturally thought of using the saxophone – the faithful companion of a film noir detective. He composed a score based on a shady theme introduced by two nebulous notes of bass flute and saxophone that evoke the cop roaming around.

Netchaïev est de retour, adapted from Jorge Semprún’s novel, tells the story of the bitter reunion of Marroux (Yves Montand), director of the DST and Netchaïev (Vincent Lindon), his revolutionary son. Bolling composed a slow march theme accompanied by strings and woodwinds. The rest of the score is discreet and atmospheric mixing emotion and suspense.

This present edition features the remastered original LP program for On ne meurt que deux fois and the expanded score for Netchaïev est de retour, remastered from the composer’s original master tapes. The package includes a 12-page booklet with liner notes by Gilles Loison, discussing the films and the scores. This is a limited edition of 500 units.

8-page CD booklet with French and English liner notes by Gilles Loison.

In collaboration with Sony Music Publishing and Amplitude, Music Box Records proudly presents the sixth volume of the collection Great Television Soundtracks dedicated to two original television soundtracks composed and conducted by Raymond Alessandrini: Le Roi de Patagonie (The King of Patagonia, 1990) and Fabien de la Drôme (1983).

Le Roi de Patagonie narrates the adventure of Antoine de Tounens, a French lawyer from Dordogne who, under the reign of Napoleon III, went to Chile to proclaim himself king of Patagonia. Raymond Alessandrini composed a symphonic score combining action, romanticism and burlesque.

Fabien de la Drôme tells the story of an outlaw who tracks down the bandits who murdered his family. Fulfilling the director’s wish for authenticity, Alessandrini wrote a Provençal theme for young Éric, following him with a bassoon-clarinet-fife combination that sometimes still evokes Western music. Fabien’s theme, an essential component of the score, accompanies the hero’s every movement with a mix of English horn, bassoon, brass instruments and strings, in various tempos.

Remastered from the original recording sessions, the program has been supervised by Raymond Alessandrini. The CD comes with an 8-page booklet with liner notes by Gilles Loison, discussing the series and the scores including new comments by the composer on his collaboration with the two directors. The release is limited to 300 units.

Kronos Records is proud to present a new title for our prestigious THE GOLD COLLECTION.  MOTORCYCLE GANG is a 1957 film directed by Edward L. Cahn and based on a story by Lou Rusoff.

Nick, a troublemaker member of a motorcycle gang returns to town only to find his old pals have joined a supervised motorcycle club. Friction erupts between him and Randy, the new leader about this goody-goody setup, and about the charms of gang moll Terry. The film starred Anne Neyland as Terry, Steven Terrell as Randy and John Ashley in the role of Nick. Carl Switzer's (known as child actor in the role of Alfalfa) performance delivers some light hearts moments.

The music was written by prolific composer ALBERT GLASSER (THE MONSTER MAKER, THE CISKO KID RETURNS, THE GAY AMIGO, GRAN CANYON and VIKING WOMEN AND THE SEA SERPENT among others) who composed a big score fitting a class A Hollywood film of the Golden Age.

Glasser's score is an eclectic mixture of big band pieces for the more leisurely and toned down scenes and the big orchestra is left at handling the action, suspense the romance. Glasser was not only a world class composer, arranger and conductor but also had some of the finest musicians of his era at hand, easy said the drumming alone on this score is world class jazz swing going to rock and roll. This soundtrack really strikes a great balance between harmony, chill, suspense and big brass action!

This is the first time ever this score sees the light of day in any format and is limited to 300 copies worldwide, First come first served!

A true must for lovers of the Gold and Silver age of cinema and all Al Glasser aficionados!

Once again we are proud to present another beautiful and rather obscure but very precious gem for the THE KRONOS GOLD COLLECTION.

THE PROUD AND DAMNED is a 1972 film, written and directed by Ferde Grofé Jr and starring the late Chuck Connors in the lead role. Also starring Aron Kincaid, José Greco, Henry Capps, Smokey Roberds, Peter Ford, Andres Marquis and Cesar Romero! The story takes place in 1870. Five ex-Confederate soldiers get embroiled in a foreign civil war south of the border.

The music for THE PROUD AND DAMNED was composed an conducted by GENE KAUER & DOUGLAS M. LACKEY, a duo that scored a long string of films together, most notably Agent for H.A.R.M. (1966) Brother of the Wind (1973) Across The Great Divide (1977) and ADVENTURE FAMILY (1977).

Their music brought a really high level of excitement to this film with a very strong latin flavour to the score, primarily a Mexican flavour with a Hollywood flare.

It is an adventure score with lots of beautiful melodies, where the acoustic guitar plays a key role in both the action cues and the more romantic ones, underscoring the relationships and interactions of our Proud and Damned crew with the locals with whome they have formed a bond.

A very exciting release that was prevously never released in any format, making this yet another World Premier release by Kronos Records!  This release would have not been possible without the help of David Schecter and the Lackey Estate.  Our deepest appreciation and that of all those who buy this CD.
