OK, ist ein Bootleg, wird hier nicht gern gesehen aber ich wollte es nur mal erwähnt haben. Es gibt von "The Fog" auch einen Real Soundtrack mit der Originalmusik aus dem Film. Denn auf der offiziellen CD fehlt ja wirklich so einiges. Dieser wurde als Isolated score von der LD gezogen. "Since alot of people are confused as to why there are two different soundtracks to the original The Fog yet neither sound like what you hear in the film, here's a brief explaination: "I shot The Fog in April and May and then took a ten day vacation to Tahiti. When I returned, I rushed into the editing rooms at Samuel Goldwyn Studios to consult with Tommy Lee Wallace as to how the picture was cutting together. It was a disaster. Quite simply, the picture didnt work. Numb with a horrifying loss of objectivity, I finished the editing and went to work on a musical score that I hoped would somehow save the picture. We dubbed The Fog in September, and finally watched the finished product. The movie I had made was clunky, clumsy and awful. The music was heavy-handed and obvious. With a mighty Herculean effort, Debra Hill, Tommy lee Wallace and myself re-wrote, re-cut, re-shot and re-scored the picture. In one month." ----John Carpenter Because Carpenter did all of this so close to the release date AVCO the film company producing the film had already given Varese Sarabande the original "aborted" soundtrack. It would be the only version available until 2000 when Silva America Records came out with their own edition. For those who were expecting the real soundtrack this time would be severely disappointed (again) since it was nothing more than a repackaging of Sarabande's copy plus some extras tacked on so they could call it "expanded". To this day there is no official version of the real soundtrack except for those lucky few (me) who had a laserdisc player and the Collector's Edition of The Fog which featured the score isolated on a seperate channel which is where this version came from. Its not perfect since it came from the inferior laserdisc technology (there is some low bleed-through from a few sound effects and screams and the audio transfer wasn't great to begin with) BUT I've done what I could to clean it up and hey, it sure as hell is better than nothin'. Ich denke auch, dass es "The Deep" wird, hoffe aber inständig auf "The Black Hole" da würd ich Luftsprünge bis zum Mond machen !

Man könnte fast annehmen, bei den Preisen für die eine oder andere Ausgabe einer CD kauft man die Verlagsrechte noch dazu !

Gibt es dazu schon nähere Infos ? Falls es überhaupt kommt und Buena Vista sich nicht querstellt. Wird das eine 1:1 Übernahme der alten Buena Vista LP / ITunes Download, oder hat man noch ein paar unreleased Tracks ausgegraben ? Vor allem würde mich mal interessieren von welchem Master das gezogen wird. Das Digitalmaster von 1980 soll ja nicht kompatibel zu den heutigen Standards sein. (Da gabs ne ewig lange Story) Dank euch.

Ich darf das nochmal aufgreifen. Wenn ich alle Tracks die man auch downloaden konnte zusammen rechne komme ich hier auf ziemlich genau 55 Minuten (Songs und Remixes incl. Score)

Dann frage ich mich was da noch alles aufgetrieben worden ist ! Denn wenn man sich den Digital release anhört ist eigentlich so ziemlich alles drauf was man im Film auch hören konnte. Zumal, wo haben sie die Bänder aufgetrieben. Denn das was digital veröffentlicht wurde war soundmässig nicht das gelbe vom Ei. Angeblich war aber nichts besseres vorhanden Schreibt Mr. Harris sogar selber in den Album Notes bei CDBaby. Nun wir werden sehen.

Die Frage wird sein ob die kommende CD identisch mit dem digital Download von CDBaby sein wird ? Ich denke mal eher ja !

Ich hab das eine oder andere Electronic Schätzlein aus seinem Archiv. Allerdings auch aus den Recordingsessions von "Galactica" und Rogers"

Alter Thread i know Hier das fehlende Stück aus dem "Buck Rogers" Soundtrack. Es stammt aus den Archiven von Stu Phillips und ist ein alternate Track der recording sessions. Im Film wurde dann die, in meinen Augen bessere Version des Stückes verwendet. Jepp, "Source #2" und "Automatic Collect, Automatic Correct" sind identisch. Nur ist die Instrumentierung ist etwas anders. Vor allem die Drumsounds. Während in, ich nehme mal an Ursprungsaufnahme, von Boddicker "Source #2" eine Roland TR-808 den Beat mitklöppelt, ist in der Aufnahme von Logic System überwiegend einer der ersten Digitalen Drummachines, ne Linndrum, zu hören ! Die TR-808 wurde aber auch mit eingesetzt. Überwiegend für die Clapsounds und diese Electronic Toms, die ja bei der 808 sehr prägnant sind. Stellt sich die Frage ob dies eine Zusammenarbeit mit Boddicker war, oder einfach von Logic System gecovert wurde. Ich tippe aber auf ersteres da Anfang der 80er YMO und deren Mitglieder und Umfeld in den USA sehr populär waren. Näheres zu wissen, wäre sehr interessant.
