Music by Hans Zimmer Limited edition of 1500 units ORDER NOW AS PART OF OUR 20% OFF SITE-WIDE SPECIAL La-La Land Records and MGM present a remastered and expanded CD re-issue of renowned composer Hans Zimmer’s (RAIN MAN, GLADIATOR) original motion picture score to the landmark 1991 feature film THELMA & LOUISE starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis, and directed by Ridley Scott. After their first successful collaboration on BLACK RAIN, director Ridley Scott called upon composer Hans Zimmer once again to score what would become the beloved classic feminist drama/road adventure THELMA & LOUISE. Enthralled by the notion of composing his take on an Americana score, Maestro Zimmer dove into the challenge, fashioning a sonic wonder that takes the audience on a road trip from the Deep South to the Open West, all the while expertly charting an emotional throughline for the complex lead characters. Tinged with blues and Cajun stylings, and featuring legendary master guitarist Pete Haycock’s signature performance skills, Zimmer’s score balances character, drama, action and location with perfect pitch – as brilliantly demonstrated within this newly remastered deluxe re-issue, expanded with more music beyond any of the film’s previous soundtrack releases. Produced by Stéphane Humez and remixed, mastered and edited by Maxime Marion from MGM vault elements, under the supervision of Hans Zimmer, this special limited edition CD release of 1500 units showcases the score as initially written by the composer, as well as alternate and film version bonus tracks, including a 2000 concert suite demo. The exclusive in-depth liner notes are by writer and journalist Kaya Savas, featuring a new interview with the composer. The sharp art design is by Dan Goldwasser. TRACK LISTING: THE SCORE 1. Quartet Records, in collaboration with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, presents the premiere release of Elmer Bernstein’s charming score for the bittersweet high-school comedy CLASS (1983), directed by Lewis John Carlino and starring Jacqueline Bisset, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, John Cusack and Cliff Robertson. The film is about Jonathan (McCarthy) who goes to college and befriends Skip (Lowe), his roommate. The relationship with Skip proves very useful in matters of love, an area where the young student is lacking. His first attempts are a resounding failure, but then he meets Ellen (Bisset), a woman twenty years his senior. At first everything goes very well, but one day she disappears. When he finds her again, he discovers that she’s Skip’s mom. Elmer Bernstein was no stranger to student comedies in the early 1980s, thanks to his collaborations with John Landis and Ivan Reitman, although CLASS is, rather, a romantic comedy. His score is a sheer delight, providing a sophisticated component to the film. The music is descriptive, romantic and funny, with a powerful main theme that is pure Bernstein. With the elements long gone, assembling this album was a challenge, but working from recently located original mono ¼” tapes and an incomplete set of 24 multi-track stereo elements, the music is finally being released—forty-two years after its recording. The CD contains the main score presentation and additional source music and alternates, all from surviving stereo and mono tracks. This collection has been produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Malone. The full color package includes an essay by film music writer Jeff Bond. 1. Theme From Class 2:50 2. Main Title* 1:37 3. LLLCD 1659 Music Composed and Conducted by John Williams Limited edition of 2000 units $31.98 La-La Land Records, Sony Music and Columbia Masterworks proudly present a remastered and expanded 2-CD release of renowned composer John Williams’ original motion picture score to the 1969 feature film period drama THE REIVERS, based upon the novel by William Faulkner and starring Steve McQueen, Mitch Vogel and Sharon Farrell, and directed by Mark Rydell. The treasured collaborative relationship between Maestro John Williams (JAWS, E.T., SCHINDLER’S LIST) and filmmaker Steven Spielberg had its roots in the director’s admiration for Williams’ brilliant score to this nostalgic 1969 drama, in which Faulkner chronicles the arrival of the automobile in the American south at the dawn of the 20th century. This new remastered and expanded 2-CD reissue, featuring the full score presentation for the first time, is an Americana wonder – beautiful, dramatic, heartfelt – an ideal match for Faulkner’s blend of playful humor and vividly drawn prose, conjuring the warm glow of an “endless summer” as experienced by a child on the cusp of adolescence. Quartet Records, in collaboration with Decca Classics and Universal Music Enterprises, presents a remastered CD edition of the unique, fascinating and controversial Bernard Herrmann recording of Gustav Holst’s THE PLANETS. Recorded during his post-Hollywood period when he was based in London, it was one of several albums he conducted for Decca Records’ Phase Four series, featuring both his own music and that of other composers. THE PLANETS has always been considered something of a cursed album, yet it is loved by his fans for an interpretation that is more Herrmann than Holst. The recording was not universally acclaimed when it was released. This was in part because several recordings of the work already on the market were considered classics, thus setting a very high bar for new entries. Some listeners, however, found the heavy tread of Herrmann’s “Mars” an actual plus, its mechanistic bombast far more threatening and imposing than the composer’s own recorded performance. Herrmann’s slow trek through the “big tune” in “Jupiter” was more widely criticized, but Herrmann was far from the only conductor who favored slower tempi in the later stages of their career—including in some of the Phase Four recordings of his own music. Nevertheless, Herrmann’s THE PLANETS sold well. Although reissued several times on LP in the 1970s, Herrmann’s recording of THE PLANETS was only released on CD in Australia in 2011 as part of a Holst compilation on Decca Eloquence. This new, first-ever solo CD edition has been restored and mastered by Chris Malone from the original master tapes transferred by UME in the UK, and features brilliant, extensive liner notes by classical and film music writer Frank K. DeWald alongside the original LP liner notes by renowned musicologist Harry Halbreich. Mars, The Bringer of War (8:43) Venus, The Bringer of Peace (10:04) Mercury, The Winged Messenger (4:34) Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity (9:06) Saturn, The Bringer of Old Age (9:31) Uranus, The Magician (6:54) Neptune, The Mystic (8:11) Total Disc Time: 57:06

Dragon’s Domain Records presents the original soundtrack to SLIPSTREAM, featuring music composed by Elmer Bernstein (THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, THE GREAT ESCAPE, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, FAR FROM HEAVEN) for the 1989 science fiction adventure film directed by Steven Lisberger (TRON), written by Tony Kayden and Bill Bauer, starring Bob Peck (Edge Of Darkness, Jurassic Park), Mark Hamill (STAR WARS, BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES), Bill Paxton (ALIENS, TWISTER, NEAR DARK), Kitty Aldridge, Susan, Leong, Ricco Ross, Robbie Coltrane and Ben Kingsley (SNEAKERS). SLIPSTREAM is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure story taking place in Earth’s near future after environmental destruction has rendered the Earth a rocky, windblown wasteland over which a river of wind, called the slipstream, becomes the only conduit for travel. Matt Owens (Paxton) is a bounty hunter who swipes a wanted killer named Byron (Peck) from the custody of officer Will Tasker (Hamill) so he can collect the bounty for himself. Transporting Byron in his aircraft through the slipstream, Owens evades Tasker and his tracker, Belitski (Aldridge), while seeking a place where he can cash in on Byron. Along the way, Owens realizes Byron is more than he seems and decides to become his protector from an increasingly unstable Tasker. SLIPSTREAM was an English production, with exteriors filmed in Cappadocia, Turkey, and the rest at Pinewood Studios. The film was produced by STAR WARS’ Gary Kurtz, who had come on board as a favor for a friend. The project reunited Kurtz with Mark Hamill for the first time since the THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, as it did with Kurtz’s co-producer Steve Lanning, a second-unit director on EMPIRE. When SLIPSTREAM went into post-production in late 1988, Elmer Bernstein was suggested as a likely candidate to provide its score. His music for HEAVY METAL (1981), SPACEHUNTER: ADVENTURES IN THE FORBIDDEN ZONE (1983), GHOSTBUSTERS (1984), and THE BLACK CAULDRON (1985) were picturesque and grandly sweeping scores. Bernstein was delighted at the proposition to compose a broad score for the film. He invested the music with passionate melodies, ferocious action melodies and provocative sonic eloquence, aided by an exuberant performance from the London Symphony Orchestra. Previously released on compact disc in 2011 and long sold out, Dragon’s Domain Records brings SLIPSTREAM back to the marketplace featuring music composed by the great Elmer Bernstein, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, with a new mastering by James Nelson of Digital Outland, liner notes by noted author Randall Larson and new artwork designed by Mark Banning. Dragon’s Domain Records presents STAR TREK: A SYMPHONIC CELEBRATION, featuring music composed for STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES (1966-1969), performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Tony Bremner. STAR TREK: A SYMPHONIC CELEBRATION presents music composed by Sol Kaplan, Samuel Matlovsky, Jerry Fielding, Joseph Mullendore and George Duning from all three seasons of the beloved show that starred William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley. It’s hard to imagine now as, for over a decade now, all of the music written and recorded for the original 1966 series has been available on CD and digital formats. But for more than a decade and a half after the show had been in cancelled in 1969, not a note of music from the show was available to listen to in any format. That began to change abruptly in 1985 when several record labels began to release Star Trek music. Producer John Steven Lasher was the first to release two volumes of Star Trek music during this time. He employed the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and had arrangements made for this symphonic ensemble, giving the scores a lusher sound and arranging the short cues into lengthy suites for an improved listening experience. STAR TREK: A SYMPHONIC CELEBRATION presents music from the following episodes: ‘The Enemy Within’, ‘I, Mudd’, ‘Spectre Of The Gun’, ‘The Conscience Of The King’, ‘The Paradise Syndrome’ and ‘Is There No Truth In Beauty’. Originally presented as suites across two separate volumes on vinyl and compact disc on Label X, those volumes have become scarce over the years. Dragon’s Domain Records is proud to bring these recordings back into the marketplace in a TWO DISC presentation with the suites separated and the music newly remastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland along with new liner notes written by author Jeff Bond including the classic notes written for these albums, featuring comments from the producers and composers Gerald Fried and George Duning. STAR TREK: A SYMPHONIC CELEBRATION is a limited edition release and is expected to begin shipping the week of March 24th, 2025 CD 1 01. Now, for the first time ever, this deluxe 3-CD release, conceived, assembled and produced by Trevor Jones himself, features the bounty of music the maestro composed for the initial, longer cut of THE DARK CRYSTAL, in its original intended order. Copies of the master tapes recorded at CTS Wembley were digitized along with the composer’s entire body of work, which is now archived at the University of Leeds. Jones personally reassembled and remastered the audio at Abbey Road for this special presentation. Produced by Trevor Jones and Tim Greiving, and mastered by Andrew Walter under the composer’s sole supervision and approval, this release includes a wealth of previously unreleased music within its newly Expanded Score Soundtrack presentation, which is spread across two discs, while the original 1982 soundtrack program is featured on Disc 3. Limited to 5000 units, this deluxe set includes a 32-page booklet containing exclusive, in-depth liner notes by Greiving (featuring new interviews with Trevor Jones and Frank Oz) and rare artwork and photos from the Henson Archive. The sharp art design is by Dan Goldwasser. TRACK LISTING: DISC 1 (46:58) 1. Power Ceremony And Main Title 4:35 2. Jen Plays Pipes And Mystic Master Dies 3:02 3. Skeksis Funeral Ceremony 2:06 4. The wonderful thing about Basil’s score to Quigley Down Under is that it has a sense of fun. – Simon Wincer, director Intrada announces a 35th-anniversary edition of Basil Poledouris' rowdy score to the 1990 MGM film Quigley Down Under. When Intrada released its first edition back in 1990, it was quite an event. Released five years after their first release—Red Dawn—the project gave them the opportunity to work again with Poledouris. Only this time it was for a new film from a major studio. Intrada president Doug Fake fell in love with the score immediately and simply would not stop talking about it or playing it. Poledouris’ music had to capture Quigley’s character and circumstances, and the composer managed to do it while both capturing a classic cinematic western style and expressing his own native romanticism and dramatic power. It was not the first western the composer had scored for the director, having previously worked on the acclaimed miniseries to Lonesome Dove. While a later reissue from Prometheus in 2006 featured the largely complete score (minus an overlay here and a correct take there), it was taken from a 16-bit, 44Khz CD-R of the additional tracks Intrada had retained but had to cut out due to the AFM policy in place at the time. For this new release, MGM provided us access to the master sessions on 24-track 2˝ tape, which we had transferred into 24-bit, 96Khz high resolution. We turned these over to Grammy-nominated producer Mike Matessino to mix, assemble and master to create the definitive release of one of Basil Poledouris’ finest scores. To cap off the release, the album features liner notes by Jeff Bond. Watch the album trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bqDKmwhfB0 The film stars Tom Selleck, Alan Rickman and Laura San Giacomo. Matthew Quigley (Selleck) is an American sharpshooter who travels to Australia after being hired by a wealthy cattle baron, Elliott Marston (Rickman). Upon arrival, Quigley learns that Marston wants him to use his long-range rifle skills to hunt and kill Indigenous Australians. Disgusted, Quigley refuses and violently opposes Marston, which leads to him being beaten and left for dead in the Outback. With the help of Crazy Cora (Giacomo), a woman struggling with past trauma, Quigley survives and begins a quest for justice, using his sharpshooting skills to take down Marston and his men.
