Irgendwer (Ford A. Thaxton glaube ich) erwähnte mal, dass die Originalbänder nicht mehr in tollem Zustand wären und eine Veröffentlichung des kompletten Scores dadurch erschwert würde. Vielleicht hat Basil aber in seinem Privatarchiv noch Kopien der Originalbänder und ein Label (am besten Intrada) nimmt sich dieser an und veröffentlich eine komplette Version.

Eigentlich schade, denn so werden einige Musiken sicherlich überhaupt nicht oder erst sehr viel später das Licht der Welt erblicken. Mich würde interessieren welche Veröffentlichungen es gewesen wären.

Tolles Review, Bülent. Die Musik ist mitreißend und ich bin wirklich froh nach langer Zeit die CD bekommen zu haben (danke nochmals an Grubdo). Leider werden diejenigen, die die CD suchen, etwas tiefer in die Tasche greifen müssen. Richtig günstig habe ich die Varèse-Fassung noch nicht gesehen und mit der Zeit wird das auch nicht leichter. Wie schneidet eigentlich die Musik zum Nachfolger CONAN THE DESTROYER gegenüber CONAN THE BARBARIAN ab? Immerhin hat auch hier Poledouris die Musik geschrieben und die CD ist ähnlich schwer zu bekommen (für nette Hinweise per PN bin ich aber gern zu haben ).

Zumindest VANTAGE POINT habe ich gestern in einem Media Markt in Erfurt gesehen. Da ich wenig Zeit hatte, habe ich das CD-Regal nicht weiter durchsucht. Es kann also gut sein, dass die anderen CDs ebenfalls schon bei verschiedenen Händlern zu finden sind. Ansonsten eben entweder bei Colosseum selbst oder bei Amazon.de bestellen.

RUNAWAY ist im Deutschen eben SPINNERN DES TODES. Den Score fand ich auch nicht so prickelnd und muss ihn mir nicht nochmal anhören.

In Sachen Urheberrecht gibt zwischen der europäischen Union und den Vereinigten Staaten einige Unterschiede. Ein Unterschied ist die Verjährungsfrist für Musiker, die in der EU derzeit 50 Jahre, in den USA aber 95 Jahre beträgt. Ein Vorschlag des EU-Binnenmarktkommissars Charlie McCreevy stößt besonders bei der Musikindustrie auf offene Ohren. McCreevy fordert eine Anhebung der europäischen Frist auf 95 Jahre, damit ein gleicher Wettbewerb den Künstlern gegenüber gewährleistet ist. Quellen: heise online [1] [2]
