  2. This is a PRE-ORDER. Expected to ship the week of January 16, 2026. Medicine Man (1992) was a rainforest adventure, eco-thriller and, in a way, romantic comedy from director John McTiernan. Sean Connery starred as a researcher doggedly pursuing a cure for cancer in the Amazonian rainforest, with Lorraine Bracco the drug company biochemist sent to check on his progress. Their friction grows into a romance as they interact with a native tribe and face off against destructive loggers. Medicine Man found its perfect composer in Jerry Goldsmith, a Hollywood master at adventure and thriller music who was, at heart, enamored with “people pictures.” Medicine Man called on both approaches, and Goldsmith rose to the occasion with a grand, tuneful, dramatic score encompassing large orchestra, sophisticated electronics and tropical instrumentation. It runs the gamut from catchy travelogues, a soaringly romantic love theme, and dark, tragic action music as the rainforest comes under threat. Director McTiernan, working with Goldsmith for the first time, recalls (in a new interview for this release) asking the composer to “try to make it as indigenous sounding as possible.” Editor Michael Miller marveled at Goldsmith’s ability to unify the film’s tone: “Jerry enhanced every emotional beat,” he says, “and glued a lot of stuff together amazingly well. The thing that really excited me were the turns from light and romantic and comedic, to dark and dire—because they were perfect.” Medicine Man was released as a 14-track, 50-minute CD by Varèse Sarabande in 1992. This Deluxe Edition adds 13 minutes of previously unreleased cues plus an alternate mix of the opening “Rae’s Arrival.” The new liner notes are by Tim Greiving, who can neither confirm nor deny that Sean Connery’s ponytail in the film was inspired by Goldsmith’s hair. 3.
  4. This is a PRE-ORDER. Expected to ship the week of January 16, 2026. Varèse Sarabande presents the Deluxe Edition of Brian Tyler’s score to Timeline (2003). Directed by Richard Donner (The Omen, Superman: The Movie, Lethal Weapon), the film was the last in a hugely successful run of high-concept, big-budget productions based on books by Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park, Congo, Sphere). Timeline follows a group of present-day archaeologists and students who travel to the 14th century in search of their team leader, who previously visited via a corporation’s “wormhole” time machine. When the group becomes trapped in the past, they must survive a brutal conflict between England and France to find a way home. Most of the cast were little known at the time, but Paul Walker, Gerard Butler, David Thewlis and Michael Sheen went on to considerable fame. Timeline was originally scored by Jerry Goldsmith, but ongoing reedits to the project, and the composer’s failing health, forced him to bow out. Brian Tyler was recruited to write the score for the final release version, which he considered “a tribute to one of my favorite composers and a director I had long admired.” Tyler’s score is action-packed and pulses with suspenseful rhythms and large symphonic flourishes—capturing the romantic sweep of the characters’ adventure, with a tense and modern sheen. The tender and gentle theme for Paul Walker and Anna Friel’s characters’ love story (“Lady Claire”) offers moments of hope and tranquility amidst the drama and suspense. Varèse Sarabande’s 2003 release of Timeline presented 26 tracks and 46 minutes. This Deluxe Edition features 37 tracks and over 79 minutes, chronicled by new liner notes by Jeff Bond. 9. Wurde für 7. Oktober (USA) angekündigt:
  10. Rated F, sozusagen: FRIGHT NIGHT Label: Intrada Special Collection Volume 183 Date: 1985 Tracks: 11 Time = 61:39 At last! World premiere CD release of the Brad Fiedel score for popular Tom Holland horror movie starring Chris Sarandon, William Ragsdale, Roddy McDowall. Fiedel creates terrific themes anchoring picture in reality, then takes off in wild directions with florid, intense material as vampire horor elements transpire. CD is presented from 1/4" two-track stereo master elements courtesy of both Sony Pictures and composer Fiedel. Some elements were drawn from actual 15 ips mixes, others were from slightly noisier 7 1/2 ips tapes. Rather than meld the two, we are presenting the surviving 15 ips cues as an opening suite, followed by the full score from the 7 1/2 ips tapes. Brad Fiedel performs. A scary addition to the Intrada Special Collection! FUNERAL HOME Label: Intrada Special Collection Volume 186 Date: 1980 Tracks: 28 Time = 59:52 An important world premiere! Jerry Fielding's final film score makes it to CD! In his lone foray into literal mad killer horror, Fielding wrote a superb score combining elements of his most brittle, intense writing - especially for strings - with his unique sense of atonal brass outbursts of violence. Along with complex piano and percussion writing, the full score is a magnificent coda to a superb, uncompromising composer's career. Our CD features every note of music Fielding recorded, including sequences intended for but deleted from the final production. The album was prepared from the actual 2" 24-track session masters stored in superb condition by the Canada film licensors. Recorded under jurisdiction of the Canadian Musician's Union, our production costs are considerably higher than normal. What we have here is literally a labor of love. What you'll get in return for the higher retail price is Fielding's final work in sensational stereo audio, including all of his source cues for organ and brass. Jerry Fielding conducts. A genuine treasure in the Intrada Special Collection!
John Carpenter’s soundtracks for the most recent Halloween trilogy, made alongside his frequent collaborators Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, marked the legendary director and composer’s return to film scoring after nearly two decades away. 2018’s Halloween, 2021’s Halloween Kills, and 2022’s Halloween Ends were all directed by David Gordon Green, who engaged Carpenter early in the pre-production process, ultimately enlisting him as both an executive producer and soundtrack composer for the trilogy. In listening to the recent Halloween scores, the collaborative spirit among the composing trio is one of the first things that jumps out. The now-famous bowed guitar part on Halloween’s “The Shape Hunts Allyson,” like all the guitar parts strewn across the trilogy, is played by Daniel Davies. John calls Daniel “the adventurer” of the group, and credits him with introducing sounds he’d never have considered. Cody, who his father refers to as a “musical savant,” is an equally essential presence. It’s his steady, methodical hand that helps give shape to the ideas that fly around when these three get in a room together. The scores for the new films may be centered on familiar themes, but they’re also a lot more sonically diverse and musically audacious than anything John could have pulled off in 1978, when he made the original Halloween. In addition to the individual expanded releases, the Halloween Expanded Trilogy will be available as part of a deluxe limited box set, offered in 6xLP and 3xCD formats. These editions feature exclusive new packaging and artwork by Chris Bilheimer, along with expansive liner notes by music critic Brad Sanders, which include exclusive interviews with John Carpenter and director David Gordon Green. Also included on both box sets are three collectible posters designed by Creepy Duck, a box set-exclusive poster design by Chris Bilheimer, and a deluxe lenticular cover that brings the artwork to life. 12. Brigham Young University Film Music Archive Production. All proceeds from this limited edition compact disc go towards the acquisition, preservation of film music elements and public future releases. Produced by David O. Selznick in 1937, A STAR IS BORN is the story, remade many times, of a young girl with dreams of fame who falls in love with a star whose talent and popularity are on the wane. Max Steiner’s score beautifully accompanies the on-screen romance and heartbreak of this classic Technicolor drama. But the story of the score is a drama in itself and this CD, taken from the composer’s personal acetates which are preserved in the Max Steiner Collection at Brigham Young University, presents, in comprehensive fashion, multiple versions of cues that were written and re-written for the film. In large part, the discs were in excellent condition, while a few had obviously been played numerous times over the years. The package includes a 40 page book with an introduction by Steiner biographer Steven C. Smith and notes by Ray Faiola, who also restored the score and produced the CD master. Package design by Jim Titus. Produced with the cooperation of Warner Bros. Entertainment. 01. Main Title 1:46 02. Advice from Granny (replaced) 3:47 03. Advice from Granny (film version) 3:44 04. 15. 17. THE DEVIL AND BERNARD HERRMANN includes suites from THE DEVIL AND DANIEL WEBSTER, OBSESSION and the composer’s own WELLES RAISES KANE, a suite from CITIZEN KANE and THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS, featuring the composer conducting the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Philharmonic Orchestra in recordings from 1967 and 1975. Bernard Herrmann is one of the greatest composers of motion picture music in the twentieth century. He is considered the man behind some of the most original and distinctive film scores. He was a master at evoking psychological and dramatic tension in his music to suit the dramatic needs of a film. He won his only Oscar in 1947 for writing the score for THE DEVIL AND DANIEL WEBSTER. Herrmann made a powerful mark in radio and in 1934 he began a 25-year career as a conductor and composer in radio, working for the CBS. In 1938, he scored the notorious infamous presentation of Orson Welles’ Halloween production of H. G. Wells’ THE WAR OF THE WORLDS broadcast. He is best remembered for his collaborations with some of Hollywood’s most celebrated film directors like Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles, Martin Scorsese and Brian DePalma. Described as a perfectionist, he believed that most directors didn't have a clue about music so he would blithely ignore their instructions. His filmography includes CITIZEN KANE, THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS, NORTH BY NORTHWEST, VERTIGO, MYSTERIOUS ISLAND, CAPE FEAR, FAHRENHEIT 451, OBSESSION, TAXI DRIVER and many hours of episodic television including THE TWILIGHT ZONE and HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL, among others. These historic recordings were originally released on vinyl in the 1970’s and later on compact disc in the 1990’s. Citadel Records, a division of BSX Records, is proud to bring these recordings back into the marketplace, under license from Unicorn Records Limited with the music newly remastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland and retaining the original liner notes written by Christopher Palmer including the participation of the composer. 18. Dragon’s Domain Records presents music from the original score to TIME AFTER TIME, composed by the legendary Miklós Rózsa (BEN-HUR, KING OF KINGS, EL CID) for the 1979 science fiction thriller directed by Nicholas Meyer (THE DAY AFTER, STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN), written by Karl Alexander, Steve Hayes and Meyer, starring Malcolm McDowell, Mary Steenburgen and David Warner. TIME AFTER TIME starts with the premise that H.G. Wells actually constructed the time machine which he wrote about in his classic novel. TIME AFTER TIME is a romantic thriller in which Wells (McDowell), the scientific genius, tracks Jack the Ripper (Warner), the criminal genius, from 19th-century London to 20th-century San Francisco in order to bring the Ripper to justice. When Wells is transported in his time machine to modern San Francisco, he seems to be more of a babe in the woods than a sophisticated Victorian gentleman. What he finds is that some of his predictions have come true, while others, like a utopian society, have not... Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1907, composer Miklós Rózsa studied the violin from the age of 5. While living in London in 1935, Rózsa was hired by legendary producer Alexander Korda to score his film, KNIGHT WITHOUT ARMOR. Later, while composing the music for another Korda production, THE THIEF OF BAGDAD, Rózsa moved to California, where he remained for the rest of his life. Throughout his film career, he worked in many genres but distinguished himself writing music for the film noirs of the 1940’s and the great costume epics of the 1950’s and 1960’s. A classically trained composer, Rózsa was well known for his dedication to researching the musical history of the time periods of the films he worked on. His filmography includes music composed for films such as THE THIEF OF BAGDAD, THE JUNGLE BOOK, DOUBLE INDEMNITY, SPELLBOUND, THE LOST WEEKEND, QUO VADIS, IVANHOE, JULIUS CAESAR, KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE, BEN-HUR, KING OF KINGS, EL CID, THE PRIVATE LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD and TIME AFTER TIME, among others. Originally released on vinyl by Entr'acte at the time of the film’s release, this presentation of the score is a rerecording produced by the composer and performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Southern Cross would release this program later on compact disc in the early days of the format. In 2009, Film Score Monthly released a compact disc with the original film tracks for the first time. Dragon’s Domain Records presents this new release of TIME AFTER AFTER, featuring the rerecording produced by the composer, newly remastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland and retaining the original album liner notes by director Nicholas Meyer and John Lasher. Following the original album program is a selection of bonus tracks of additional music composed by Miklós Rózsa, including music from PROVIDENCE, THE LOST WEEKEND, SPELLBOUND, THAT HAMILTON WOMAN and THE PRIVATE FILES OF J. EDGAR HOOVER. TIME AFTER TIME is a limited edition release of 500 units. TIME AFTER TIME will begin shipping the week of Sept. 29th, 2025 01. W.B. Fanfare* And Prelude (2:09) (* - Max Steiner) 02. 19. Music Composed and Conducted by John Williams Limited Edition of 3000 Units La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures proudly present a remastered CD reissue of renowned composer John Williams’ original motion picture score to the 1977 dramatic feature film thriller BLACK SUNDAY, starring Robert Shaw and Bruce Dern, and directed by John Frankenheimer. A white-knuckle suspense thriller chronicling a diabolical terrorist attack on the Super Bowl via airborne blimp needed a score to wind the film’s ticking clock tension with precision. At the time, Williams’ recent FAMILY PLOT and legendary JAWS scores made him a perfect choice to tackle BLACK SUNDAY. His score to the film is pitch-perfect – a winding tapestry of percussion and ominous atmosphere that had the audience on the edge of their seats, while the inner conflicts of the characters are explored through emotionally resonant melodic material. The composer’s remarkable ability to balance action and suspense with human drama is on full display within this remastered presentation of the Maestro’s few forays into the political thriller genre. Reissue Producer Mike Matessino has newly mixed and mastered the score from first-generation 16-track analog scoring elements, transferred in high resolution by Paramount Archives. Following the main Score Presentation, tracks of Additional Music feature three pieces of source music Williams composed for the film and the original end credits composition, “The End,” without the percussion track. This was considered as an alternative before it was decided to track tense action music over the credits. The program concludes with the music as presented for the ending of the picture, opening with the revised ending of “The Explosion.” This short cue was recorded long after the main scoring sessions. As no master element could be located, the cue is presented from the original mono dubbing stem for the film, processed for stereo. This Limited Edition CD re-issue of 3000 units features all new, in-depth liner notes from writer Jeff Bond and winning new art direction by Jim Titus. 21. Dragon’s Domain Records presents music from the original score to KING KONG, composed by the legendary Max Steiner (GONE WITH THE WIND, CASABLANCA, THE TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE) for the legendary 1933 epic adventure KING KONG, directed by by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack, written by James Ashmore Creelman, Ruth Rose and Cooper, starring Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong, Bruce Cabot, Frank Reicher and Sam Hardy. Director Carl Denham (Armstrong) leads a film crew to a remote, uncharted Pacific Island in search of the legendary Kong, a gigantic ape. After the island’s inhabitants abandon actress Ann Darrow (Wray) to Kong, Denham and his crew pursue the beast through the dinosaur-infested jungle. They eventually capture Kong and take him to New York as a sideshow attraction, with disastrous results... Born on May 10th, 1888, Max Steiner was an Austrian composer and conductor who emigrated to America and became one of Hollywood's greatest musical composers. Steiner was a child prodigy who conducted his first operetta when he was twelve and became a full-time professional, proficient at composing, arranging, and conducting, by the time he was fifteen. Threatened with internment in England during World War I, he fled to Broadway; and in 1929 he moved to Hollywood, where he became one of the first composers to write music scores for films. He is often referred to as "the father of film music", as Steiner played a major part in creating the tradition of writing music for films, along with composers Dimitri Tiomkin, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Franz Waxman, Alfred Newman, Bernard Herrmann, and Miklós Rózsa. Steiner composed over 300 film scores with RKO Pictures and Warner Bros., and was nominated for 24 Academy Awards: His filmography includes THE INFORMER, NOW, VOYAGER, AND SINCE YOU WENT AWAY, LITTLE WOMEN, JEZEBEL, CASABLANCA, THE SEARCHERS, A SUMMER PLACE and GONE WITH THE WIND, which ranked second on the AFI's list of best American film scores, and is the film score for which he is best known. He was also the first recipient of the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, which he won for his score for LIFE WITH FATHER. Steiner was a frequent collaborator with some of the best known film directors in history, including Michael Curtiz, John Ford, and William Wyler. Originally released on vinyl in 1976 by Entr’acte and later on compact disc in 1993 by Label X, Dragon’s Domain Records is excited to bring KING KONG roaring back to the marketplace, featuring a rerecording of music composed by the legendary Max Steiner, performed by the National Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Fred Steiner. The music has been newly remastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland. The booklet includes the original extensive liner notes written by Fred Steiner and Fay Wray for the album.
