Zum neuen Film von Sam Raimi steuerte wieder Elfman die Musik bei. Der Score wird von Hollywood Records veröffentlicht. The original score for “Send Help” was written by Academy Award®-nominated composer Danny Elfman, whose collaborations with Raimi span over 30 years. The pair previously worked together on “Spider-Man,” “Darkman,” “A Simple Plan” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” “It was great, incredibly great, collaborating with Danny Elfman, as it always is for me,” Raimi says. “He literally makes your movie one letter grade better. And he always knows where to put his music and precisely the tone to elevate the scene. It’s not what you might think it would’ve been.” “The thing that made me say yes to ‘Send Help’ without even knowing what the movie was, was the fact that it was Sam Raimi who was the director,” says Elfman. “Sam and I have worked together for somewhere between 30 and 35 years now. And Sam’s one of those people when he calls with the question of if I’m available, I automatically say yes.” In Azizi’s experience, “Danny Elfman is a dream come true to work with. He is an absolute legend, and he’s elevated so many scenes.” As he approached the project, Elfman was excited to find the right tonal balance for the film’s music landscape. “Balancing all the elements of a film and a score is the fun part–you take things in many different directions. The thing that was unique in ‘Send Help,’ because I’ve done a number of 16 thrillers, is this also had a kind of a dark comic side to it, which made it even more fun to play, because sometimes I can have fun with the music and just play it over the top in a kind of a broad way. And then sometimes it’s like, ‘No, now I really want to be intense and moody with the music.’” For Linda Liddle’s theme, Elfman wanted to reflect her character’s transformation. “I wanted to find a theme that played very sweetly and gently with a woman’s voice that could be both innocent and have a tinge of madness to it,” Elfman explains. “And so, I think I used as my inspiration ‘Rosemary’s Baby.’ It was a score that I really loved growing up. When we hear her theme early on, it’s got kind of an innocent quality to it, but by the end when we hear it, it takes on a darker, more sinister quality to the same voice singing the same theme. I always love it when I can do something like that, take a little innocent piece of thematic material and in its simplicity and innocence try to make it feel almost menacing.” Elfman adds, “The whole end of the movie was delightful and fun to score too, because things get so intense.” “Danny has a mastery of film and music that nobody else has–he tells the story with his music,” Raimi says. “He enhances, he sometimes plays counterpoint when he decides, sometimes he stays out because the moment will land better like that. He’s a never ending teacher for me of how film music works. I couldn’t ask for anything better than what he delivered.” Elfman’s experience on the production was an equally positive one. “With Sam, it’s just fun. I love the dynamic between me and Sam and Bob, the editor, because we all go back together. Really, it’s just like getting back into the playpen for us. It’s almost like we went to elementary school together and we were play pals back then. And now, as adults, we get to get together and play in this big playpen called a movie. And even though we didn’t know each other as kids, that’s kind of what it feels like to me. It just becomes a joyful experience.” “My only wish when audiences hear the music, is that it enhances their experience of the film," Elfman concludes. Quelle

This is a PRE-ORDER. Expected to ship the week of January 16, 2026. Medicine Man (1992) was a rainforest adventure, eco-thriller and, in a way, romantic comedy from director John McTiernan. Sean Connery starred as a researcher doggedly pursuing a cure for cancer in the Amazonian rainforest, with Lorraine Bracco the drug company biochemist sent to check on his progress. Their friction grows into a romance as they interact with a native tribe and face off against destructive loggers. Medicine Man found its perfect composer in Jerry Goldsmith, a Hollywood master at adventure and thriller music who was, at heart, enamored with “people pictures.” Medicine Man called on both approaches, and Goldsmith rose to the occasion with a grand, tuneful, dramatic score encompassing large orchestra, sophisticated electronics and tropical instrumentation. It runs the gamut from catchy travelogues, a soaringly romantic love theme, and dark, tragic action music as the rainforest comes under threat. Director McTiernan, working with Goldsmith for the first time, recalls (in a new interview for this release) asking the composer to “try to make it as indigenous sounding as possible.” Editor Michael Miller marveled at Goldsmith’s ability to unify the film’s tone: “Jerry enhanced every emotional beat,” he says, “and glued a lot of stuff together amazingly well. The thing that really excited me were the turns from light and romantic and comedic, to dark and dire—because they were perfect.” Medicine Man was released as a 14-track, 50-minute CD by Varèse Sarabande in 1992. This Deluxe Edition adds 13 minutes of previously unreleased cues plus an alternate mix of the opening “Rae’s Arrival.” The new liner notes are by Tim Greiving, who can neither confirm nor deny that Sean Connery’s ponytail in the film was inspired by Goldsmith’s hair.

Music by Steve Jablonsky Limited Edition of 3000 Units La-La Land Records, Paramount Pictures and Milan Records present a remastered and expanded 20th Anniversary CD re-issue of renowned composer Steve Jablonsky’s (TRANSFORMERS, BATTLESHIP, LONE SURVIVOR) original motion picture score to the big screen 2005 sci-fi action/drama THE ISLAND starring Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson, and directed by Michael Bay. A sci-fi drama as minded about social commentary as its crackerjack action was a new challenge for director Michael Bay and he called on acclaimed composer Steve Jablonsky to provide a sonic foundation to blend the film’s cerebral elements and intimate personal drama with its blockbuster action set-pieces. Jablonsky delivered big – with a riveting, evocative score that is as propulsive as it is dreamlike and atmospheric, melding electronics and programming and orchestra in expert fashion. This deluxe 20th Anniversary expanded and remastered showcase unleashes the full brilliance of this notable work. Produced by Stéphane Humez and mastered and edited by Maxime Marion from studio vault elements, under the supervision of the composer, this special limited edition CD release of 3000 units features the film score presentation over Disc 1 and Disc 2, with additional music presented on Disc 2. The exclusive in-depth liner notes are by writer and journalist Kaya Savas, featuring a new interview with the composer. The sharp art design is by Dan Goldwasser. This is a PRE-ORDER. Expected to ship the week of January 16, 2026. Varèse Sarabande presents the Deluxe Edition of Brian Tyler’s score to Timeline (2003). Directed by Richard Donner (The Omen, Superman: The Movie, Lethal Weapon), the film was the last in a hugely successful run of high-concept, big-budget productions based on books by Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park, Congo, Sphere). Timeline follows a group of present-day archaeologists and students who travel to the 14th century in search of their team leader, who previously visited via a corporation’s “wormhole” time machine. When the group becomes trapped in the past, they must survive a brutal conflict between England and France to find a way home. Most of the cast were little known at the time, but Paul Walker, Gerard Butler, David Thewlis and Michael Sheen went on to considerable fame. Timeline was originally scored by Jerry Goldsmith, but ongoing reedits to the project, and the composer’s failing health, forced him to bow out. Brian Tyler was recruited to write the score for the final release version, which he considered “a tribute to one of my favorite composers and a director I had long admired.” Tyler’s score is action-packed and pulses with suspenseful rhythms and large symphonic flourishes—capturing the romantic sweep of the characters’ adventure, with a tense and modern sheen. The tender and gentle theme for Paul Walker and Anna Friel’s characters’ love story (“Lady Claire”) offers moments of hope and tranquility amidst the drama and suspense. Varèse Sarabande’s 2003 release of Timeline presented 26 tracks and 46 minutes. This Deluxe Edition features 37 tracks and over 79 minutes, chronicled by new liner notes by Jeff Bond. YOUNG & CURSED Music Composed by PATRICK O'MALLEY For Intrada's latest release, composer Patrick O'Malley chose to eschew the current sound-design approach of many modern-day horror films and lean into a more traditional (and frankly fan-embraced) style of horror scoring. Composers from earlier decades always lauded the opportunities provided by horror films to embrace experimentation that were not often afforded in other genres. It provided an opportunity not only to embrace dissonance as would be expected, but also the lyrical side so often ignored in horror films today. Think Jerry Goldsmith's delicate theme for Carol Ann balanced alongside the aggressive action in Poltergeist. The two can easily coexist in a horror setting. As O'Malley describes in his notes: One of the best things that can be given to any composer (of film music or otherwise) is a large canvas. When I first read Andrew [Chiaramonte] and Emmett [Alston]'s script for Young & Cursed, I initially thought that the film would only need light touches from the music: subtle electronics with the occasional reverb-submerged piano and grit-filled jump-scare stinger (after all, the plot outline is a bunch of kids in a cabin getting spooked for 90 minutes!). But, upon seeing a rough cut of the film and hearing [director] Andrew passionately discuss his goal of putting the audience in a larger frame of mind about the spiritual nature of good and evil, a much different sound came to me: a traditional-style score combining orchestra, choir, synths, electronics and a battery of homemade “found object” instruments. O'Malley may not be a name known to many, as Young & Cursed is his first full-length film score after working on several shorts and in the classical music scene. Hopefully this score is the harbinger of many more feature-length film assignments to come. Check out the soundtrack trailer here: The film is a supernatural psychological horror film directed by Andrew Chiaramonte, centering on five young strangers who retreat to a remote wilderness cabin, only to find themselves under the sinister influence of a mysterious woman possessed by an ancient force. As they become trapped and isolated, the group’s trust erodes and paranoia grows, forcing each person to confront their deepest fears and inner demons. The Scorpion King (2002) was a prequel and spin-off of Universal Pictures’ successful Mummy franchise, launching the superstardom of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in his first lead role. The Rock reprised his character of Mathayus from The Mummy Returns in an origin story depicting the Akkadian mercenary’s rise to power 5,001 years prior to the events of the previous films. Director Chuck Russell (The Mask, Eraser) chose John Debney to score The Scorpion King based on the strength of his symphonic score for Cutthroat Island (1995). Debney followed in the Mummy footsteps of Jerry Goldsmith and Alan Silvestri with a gargantuan, desert-flavored action score for full orchestra and choir, including non-Western instruments like the ney, duduk and ram’s horn (and Japanese taiko drums and flutes) to evoke exoticism and antiquity. He also, befitting the film’s contemporary swagger and The Rock’s wrestling fanbase, created a “mash-up” of symphonic instruments with shredding electric guitars. Director and composer intended the score to be a tribute to classic adventure films. As Debney recalls in the new liner notes, “Chuck stressed how he wanted it to hearken back to those great films from yesteryear, where you have a lot of musical scurrying around. I went back to Korngold for its pirate aspect and the music of Ray Harryhausen’s Sinbad movies, as well as Jerry and Alan. I love doing these little musical homages to my heroes.” The Scorpion King was released by Varèse Sarabande as a 40-minute CD at the time of the film. The 2CD Deluxe Edition doubles the score program to nearly 80 minutes, and adds a bonus section of Debney’s demos. Liner notes are by Daniel Schweiger.

Shipping starts on 12/10 Quartet Records, in collaboration with Universal Music Enterprises, Studiocanal and Calash Corporation, presents a 40th-anniversary, restored and remastered edition of Henry Mancini’s classic Christmas score for SANTA CLAUS: THE MOVIE. The film, directed by Jeannot Szwarc in 1985, starred Dudley Moore, David Huddleston and John Lithgow, was an ambitious and expensive project produced by Alexander and Ilya Salkind, and although it was not the box office hit it was expected to be, has gained fans over time to become a cult film. One of the most important aspects of the film was its score, for which Salkinds hired Henry Mancini. The composer was deeply involved in the production, composing more than 85 minutes of original music for the 109-minute film. This score is surely one of the biggest symphonic efforts of his career, beautiful, diverse and emotional, written during the same period as LIFEFORCE and THE GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE. Recorded at CTS Studios in London with the National Philharmonic Orchestra, the score also features The Ambrosian Singers and The Ambrosian Children’s Choir performing several charming songs written by Mancini and Leslie Bricusse. For the original album, released in 1985 by EMI America, Mancini prepared a program of highlights lasting only 37 minutes. Some themes were modified for their album version—with different durations, slightly different mixes or the addition of pop elements. Almost all of Mancini’s underscore was missing. Quartet Records released Mancini’s score in its entirety in 2012 and reissued it in 2019 on a 3-CD set, mastered from ½̋″ 3-track. For this new edition, the recently discovered complete first-generation 2″ 24-track set has been transferred in high resolution, allowing engineer Chris Malone to offer a fully restored, remixed and remastered version from the scoring masters recorded by Dick Lewzey. Showcased in a 2-CD set, Disc 1 includes the complete score, while Disc 2 brings together the original songs by Mancini and Bricusse, as well as all the recorded versions intended for the 1985 original album and alternates, including two previously unreleased tracks. We have not included the two pop songs that had nothing to do with Mancini and were included in the film and the original album for commercial purposes. The package includes in-depth liner notes by film music writer John Takis, discussing the film and scores, and features art direction by Jim Titus. This deluxe presentation unleashes the Mancini Christmas magic sounding like never before. DISC 1. LLLCD 1681 Music by Elmer Bernstein Limited Edition of 2000 Units La-La Land Records and Tri-Star Pictures present the official, world premiere CD release of renowned composer Elmer Bernstein’s (THE GRIFTERS, HEAVY METAL, THE AGE OF INNOCENCE) original motion picture score to the acclaimed 1995 big screen ‘40s era mystery thriller DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS starring Denzel Washington and Jennifer Beals, and directed by Carl Franklin. In bringing writer Walter Mosley’s famed 1990 novel to cinematic life, director Carl Franklin called on legendary composer Elmer Bernstein to craft a score to help the lead character Ezekiel “Easy” Rawlins navigate his way through a seductive and dangerous post-WWII ‘40s Los Angeles. Elegant and mysterious, brooding and sensuous, Bernstein’s work is as retro-classic as it is contemporary, blending soulful blues and jazz motifs with traditional dramatic scoring. The result is both subtle and powerful and altogether mesmerizing. The previous original CD soundtrack release was song-centric, containing only three original score tracks. Finally, Elmer Bernstein’s score is unleashed in all its brilliance within this expanded score presentation, marking the film’s 30th Anniversary. Produced by Neil S. Bulk and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this release is limited to 2000 units, features exclusive liner notes by writer Jeff Bond, and is art directed by Dan Goldwasser. Rated F, sozusagen: FRIGHT NIGHT Label: Intrada Special Collection Volume 183 Date: 1985 Tracks: 11 Time = 61:39 At last! World premiere CD release of the Brad Fiedel score for popular Tom Holland horror movie starring Chris Sarandon, William Ragsdale, Roddy McDowall. Fiedel creates terrific themes anchoring picture in reality, then takes off in wild directions with florid, intense material as vampire horor elements transpire. CD is presented from 1/4" two-track stereo master elements courtesy of both Sony Pictures and composer Fiedel. Some elements were drawn from actual 15 ips mixes, others were from slightly noisier 7 1/2 ips tapes. Rather than meld the two, we are presenting the surviving 15 ips cues as an opening suite, followed by the full score from the 7 1/2 ips tapes. Brad Fiedel performs. A scary addition to the Intrada Special Collection! FUNERAL HOME Label: Intrada Special Collection Volume 186 Date: 1980 Tracks: 28 Time = 59:52 An important world premiere! Jerry Fielding's final film score makes it to CD! In his lone foray into literal mad killer horror, Fielding wrote a superb score combining elements of his most brittle, intense writing - especially for strings - with his unique sense of atonal brass outbursts of violence. Along with complex piano and percussion writing, the full score is a magnificent coda to a superb, uncompromising composer's career. Our CD features every note of music Fielding recorded, including sequences intended for but deleted from the final production. The album was prepared from the actual 2" 24-track session masters stored in superb condition by the Canada film licensors. Recorded under jurisdiction of the Canadian Musician's Union, our production costs are considerably higher than normal. What we have here is literally a labor of love. What you'll get in return for the higher retail price is Fielding's final work in sensational stereo audio, including all of his source cues for organ and brass. Jerry Fielding conducts. A genuine treasure in the Intrada Special Collection!- 51 Antworten

Shipping starts on 12/10 Quartet Records, in collaboration with Universal Music Enterprises and Paramount Pictures, presents the restored and remastered 2-CD reissue of Hans Zimmer’s iconic score for Ridley Scott’s 1989 action-suspense film BLACK RAIN, starring Michael Douglas and Andy Garcia as two New York City cops who arrest a Yakuza member and must escort him to Japan for extradition. BLACK RAIN was the first collaboration of Hans Zimmer with Ridley Scott, kicking off a creative partnership that would go on to produce some of the most thrilling film scores of the next two decades. For this new release of the BLACK RAIN score, we were fortunate to access archival studio materials that had been transferred within the last decade—sources that were unavailable for previous editions. These included the original 24″ and 32″ multitrack recordings. With these elements in hand, the score was carefully restored, cleaned and remixed to achieve vastly improved sonic fidelity. Among the discoveries in these transfers were several unexpected bonuses. This expanded edition has been a long time coming, and we’re thrilled that fans can finally experience Hans Zimmer’s early action score in its most complete and dynamic form to date. Painstakingly produced by Stéphane Humez and Dan Goldwasser, mixed and mastered by Maxime Marion with the supervision and approval of the composer, the package includes detailed liner notes by Kaya Savas, including an exclusive interview with Mr. Zimmer.
