Zwei neue von BSX:

MEGAFORCE reveals to the world the existence of "a phantom army of super-elite fighting men whose weapons are the most powerful science can devise". Led by Commander Ace Hunter (Bostwick), MEGAFORCE is a special rapid deployment unit consisting of specialists from armies across the world, using the latest in military hardware, combined with the latest advances in scientific technology, ready to strike at a moment's notice. The film is concerned with the fate of the peace-loving Middle Eastern republic of Sardun, under constant siege by its aggressive neighbor Gamibia. Unwilling to retaliate, Sardunian military officials General Byrne-White (Mulhare) and Major Zara seek out MEGAFORCE to help put a stop to Gamibia's incursions. Ace is happy to oblige the Sardunians as he has a past with the leader of Gamibia's military, Duke Guerrera (Silva), an old military friend who decided to stop fighting for causes and now fights for the money.

After MEGAFORCE deploys at night and successfully infiltrates Gamibia, they find themselves without support from the Sardun government and unable to trap Guerrera. The team must now fight their way through Guerrera's army of tanks to get to their extraction zone in time to be picked up. If they don't get there in time, there will be no other way to get out of Gamibia. MEGAFORCE arrives at the extraction zone, a dry lake bed, to find Guerrera and his men waiting for them. Ace orders his men to engage Guerrera, as MEGAFORCE focuses its full military might consisting of rockets, lasers and machine guns mounted on motorcycles and ATVs against Guerrera's tanks in a desperate bid to break the blockade and make it to their extraction planes. Ace defiantly turns around to say goodbye to his old friend one last time. With the last plane in the air, Ace decides to field test the latest upgrade to MEGAFORCE and his motorcycle takes flight, allowing him to escape and catch up to the rest of the team.

The music for MEGAFORCE was composed by American composer Jerrold Immel, best known for his work on television shows such as DALLAS, KNOTS LANDING, VOYAGERS and HOW THE WEST WAS WON. Producer Albert S. Ruddy had a relationship with the composer already from his work on HOW THE WEST WAS WON and when Ruddy became part of MEGAFORCE, he brought Immel in with him. His score for MEGAFORCE is a remarkable blend of live orchestra with electronic instruments, something that had not been done very often at that time. Most scores in 1982 were largely either all-electronic scores or all-orchestral scores, rarely were they integrated. For the electronic elements of the score, Immel worked with Craig Huxley, a noted synthesist responsible for creating the Blaster Beam, the ultra low frequency instrument used to create unique electronic sounds for films such as METEOR and STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE.

At the time of the film's release, the composer had put together an album presentation of his music. Because the film did not do well at the box office, an album was never released. BUYSOUNDTRAX is excited to release this presentation on compact disc, which includes music written for the film but was not used, such as the end title suite. The producers chose to end the film with a song by the rock band 707 and it is not included on this release. While much of the dynamics of the composer's final mixes were lost in the film's soundtrack, which gave equal weight to the battle sequences and the roaring engines of the vehicles, this unique mixture of electronics and orchestra can now be appreciated on this recording.

BUYSOUNDTRAX Records presents MEGAFORCE, the first compact disc release of music by veteran composer Jerrold Immel. The booklet features notes by Randall Larson, discussing the history of the project and including the composer's participation. MEGAFORCE is a limited edition release of 2000 units. The first 100 copies will be autographed by composer Jerrold Immel. MEGAFORCE is available for pre-orders at Buysoundtrax.com and will be available on or before 3/2/11.

BUYSOUNDTRAX Records presents the original motion picture soundtrack to PERKINS' 14, featuring music composed by Kostas Christides, for the 2009 horror film directed by Craig Singer, written by Lane Shadgett and Jeremy Donaldson, starring Patrick O'Kane, Richard Brake, Michale Graves, Mihaela Mihut and Shayla Beesley.

PERKINS' 14 takes place in the small town of Stone Cove, Maine and is concerned with the stories of two men who live there. One is Ronald Perkins, a local psychiatrist who has been taken into police custody. Perkins is a suspect in the abduction of fourteen children over the last ten years. The other man is Dwayne Hopper, one of the town's deputy sheriffs. His son is one of the missing children. As Hopper interrogates Perkins, he learns that Perkins' parents were brutally murdered in their home when he was six years old and that he has been living in fear that the killers would some day return for him. Perkins reveals that he's been brainwashing the missing children, using methods of cult indoctrination to turn them into a unified army, to protect him from the men who killed his parents. While Perkins is being questioned, the other deputies accidentally release the missing children on Stone Cove and a night of terror begins as the fourteen children, now super-strong adults, tear the town apart with one thought on their minds Kill For Mr. Perkins.

To score PERKIN'S 14, director Craig Singer turned to composer Kostas Christides. The two already had a relationship after collaborating on DARK RIDE, Singer's previous feature film. Kostas' haunting and terrifying music for PERKINS' 14 includes writing for electric guitar, percussion and prepared piano.

Kostas Christides was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. He started his musical studies when he was six years old. Kostas graduated from the London College of Music, where he studied Piano, Composition and Orchestration and also received his Masters degree in Composition. He is also a graduate of the University Of Southern California's Advanced Studies Program in Scoring For Motion Picture And Television. Kostas has numerous credits to his name as a composer of original scores for films such as THE DRONE VIRUS, 29 REASONS TO RUN, EDUART and DARK RIDE. He has also had a successful career as an orchestrator on films such as THE HURRICANE, WONDER BOYS, SWORDFISH, THE SHIPPING NEWS, THE CORE, THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE, SPIDER-MAN 3, UNTRACEABLE and TRAVELING.

BUYSOUNDTRAX Records presents PERKINS' 14. This is a limited edition release of 1000 units. The first 100 copies will be autographed by composer Kostas Christides. PERKINS' 14 is available for pre-orders at Buysoundtrax.com and will be available on or before 3/2/11.

Megaforce! Mensch!

Manchmal gibt es sogar Sythie-Laser-Ping-Pang-Effekte, z.B. in "Last Plane Out".
