Bulk and Jeff Bond, restored by Chris Malone and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this limited edition 2-CD release of 1701 units, as well as forthcoming volumes of this series, illustrate how the original Trek series scores not only teem with action, adventure and drama, but how they are also infused with deep emotion and the greatness of the human spirit. Der Aufwand für LLL ist ja auch Recht gering da alles von der alten Box übernommen werden kann. Neues Artwork und booklet und fertig ist die Laube. Bestimmt schön profitabel. Es sei LLL gegönnt. Die TOS Box ist für mich das Paradebeispiel für eine Serien Veröffentlichung.

Frage. Gibt's irgendwo eine Liste wo aufgeführt ist welcher Track in welcher Episode wiederverwendet wurde?

Dieser Schlag-auf-Schlag-Output ist doch ganz einfach nur aus der Not heraus geboren. Das hat MV Gerhard selbst längst eingestanden und es hat somit nichts mit einer "Vorproduktion" anderer Titel zu tun. Die US-Studios, die überhaupt noch Lizenzen vergeben (Warner und Disney/Fox gehen für LLL ja seit geraumer Zeit ohnehin nicht mehr) lassen sich mit ihren "approvals" endlos Zeit und so liegen mehrere Titel seit Monaten in der Wartestellung, die das ganze Jahr durch nicht gebracht werden konnten. "Waiting for approvals" ist hier das eigentliche Stichwort.

Und vor gar nicht langer Zeit hatte Gerhard noch gumgetönt, dass LLL mit Star Trek durch sei. Jetzt zeigt sich, dass Paramount/CBS für das Label nach wie vor leicht zu machen und offenbar dafür noch eine Käuferschicht vorhanden ist. Aber sie kommen hier bei der Originalserie wie auch bei den späteren Berman-Produktionen nicht an das Material heran, das auf GNP Crescendo war. In der großen TOS Box war das immerhin remastert enthalten, bei den anderen GNP CDs sind schon noch einige Sachen, bei denen sich eine verbesserte Neuauflage lohnen würde.

In diesem Jahr ist der Ausstoß des Labels deutlich zurückgegangen.

LLL hat ja auch vier Monate Pause gemacht, um sein Lager zu verramschen. Ich glaube nicht, daß es nächstes Jahr wieder mehr wird. Aber ein klanglich verbesserter DS9-Pilotfilm würde mich interessieren. Die Musik auf den Best Of-Alben ist m. E. ganz okay abgemischt.

Die Best of-Alben würde ich auch sagen, aber bei älteren Sachen sieht es schon schlechter aus wie bei dem Next Generation Vol. 3 von McCarthy. Auch sein Score zu Generations war zu distanziert abgemischt, das wurde zum Glück behoben.

Ja, TNG Vol. III stößt mir mischungsmäßig auch sauer auf. I und II gibt es ja nun besser abgemischt und mit der IV war ich eigentlich auch ganz zufrieden. Oder ist da klanglich wirklich etwas schlecht? Am schlechtesten finde ich immer noch o. g. "The Emissary". Das klingt alles sehr verwaschen und dumpf.

Ich frage mich schon lange, wie es GNP schafft, sich im Geschäft zu halten. Die bringen doch gar nichts raus.

Sollten GNP früher oder später abgewickelt werden können die Rechte ja wieder vergeben werden.

Die Aussagen von MV sind etwas kryptisch. Die TOS Box war sehr teuer. Scheint aber ein finanzieller Erfolg gewesen zu sein. Das LLL Möglichkeiten nutz um das Material jetzt noch einmal für sie günstiger zu verkaufen ist klar.

Für mich war die TOS Box jeden Cent wert. Schade für alle die sie verpasst haben. Das GNP Material hat ja einige wichtige TOS Klassiker dabei.
