Schade, schade! Zum ersten Mal seit über zehn Jahren keine CD für mich zu Weihnachten. Ist zwar ein guter Soundtrack, aber eine Erweiterung brauche ich davon nicht. Wieviel Goldsmith-Scores sind eigentlich noch übrig, die erweitert oder neu eingespielt werden können? Bestimmt nicht mehr als zwanzig.

Noch überladener als Season 1. Machte über weite Strecken schon Spaß, aber viel hängen geblieben ist bei mir nicht. Das Album kommt jetzt von LLL auf CD. Habe in den noch nicht reingehört, aber in den zu Teil 2 habe ich immer wieder mal reingehört. Da hat er nett mit den Themen gespielt.

Oh - gerade kam die mail zum Download der digitalen Version - Bin gespannt 47 min Score - also ca 15 min mehr Plus einige Bonus Tracks - Gesamtlaufzeit 64 min

Vielleicht kann KI in Zukunft auch helfen, Scores zu veröffentlichen, deren Masterbänder nicht mehr existieren. So könnte man die Filmtonspur nehmen und mit KI von Soundeffekten und Dialogen befreien. Das ersetzt qualitativ zwar keine mehrspurigen Masterbänder, aber ist besser als nichts. Umgekehrt wird es ja schon fleißig eingesetzt, um Sprache von Störgeräuschen zu trennen. Nur deswegen konnte es ja auch einen "neuen" Song der Beatles geben, weil die KI John Lennons Stimme auf seiner Demoaufnahme von seiner eigenen Klavierbegleitung trennen konnte.

Habe ich mir auf Spotify mal angehört und klingt echt nicht schlecht. Schönes Hauptthema. Noch nie von dem komponisten gehört Der Film scheint es aber bislang noch nicht nach Deutschland geschafft zu haben

Ich habe mir jetzt mal den Spaß gemacht und die Musik an den Film angelegt. Dabei merkt man, dass die Orchesteraufnahmen hauptsächlich für die emotionalen Passagen verwendet wurden, außerdem für die Trainingsmontage und für ein paar wichtige Suspense-Momente. Die eigentlich Action ist mit Ausnahme der spektakulären Fallschirm-Sequenz komplett mit Synths unterlegt, weil das Budget nicht ausreichte. Dabei hat Jeff Morrow laut Booklet die Synth-Musik auf Grundlage von Talgorns bereits fertiger Partitur erstellt. Es ist wirklich ein Jammer, dass wir diese Fassung nie zu hören bekommen werden. Die Synths klingen gerade im Filmzusammenhang teilweise extrem albern, zumal in den Schlägereien teilweise jeder Faustschlag mit einem Beckeneffekt unterstrichen wird und weil es für die heroischen Fanfaren einfach das volle Blech braucht. Der Film ist gar nicht schlecht gealtert und das ewig lange Finale ist ja eine reine Zerstörungs- und Ballerorgie. Da hört man die Musik auch kaum, aber es wäre echt interessant, was Talgorn dazu eigentlich im Sinn hatte. Insofern hält die Doppel-CD auch keine neue Orchestermusik bereit. Die wurde auf der Alhambra schon komplett in der Symphonischen Suite zusammengestellt. Und die zusätzlichen Synth-"Mock-ups" braucht man dann auch nicht unbedingt. Schade aber, dass Talgorn selbst in Filmmusikkreisen nicht den Status genießt, der ihm zusteht. Und somit ist die Musik zu DELTA FORCE 2 auch mit dem Ausverkauf der Intrada-CD wieder in die Untiefen der obskuren Filmmusikperlen abgetaucht.

Den kenne ich wiederrum noch nicht. Mein erster Talgorn war ASTERIX BEI DEN OLYPISCHEN SPIELEN, das ist ja auch eine sehr farben- und themenreiche Musik. Nachdem @Grubdo im "Holy-Grails"-Thread Talgorns FORTRESS erwähnt hat, bin ich hellhörig geworden und dachte, ich sollte mich nun wirklich mal mit seinen Arbiten beschäftigen. Bisher wurde ich nicht enttäuscht - DIE STORY VON MONTY SPINNERRATZ zum Beispiel war eine sehr schöne Entdeckung.

Habe mir THE CORE von Young gesichert und der Kauf lief reibungslos!

Habe das Album auch. Ein wirklich unterhaltsamer Score. Ein weiterer Score den ich von Talgorn noch habe ist Anthony Zimmer. Ein toller atmosphärischer Thriller Score, den ich auch gelungener finde als James Newton Howards Musik zum Remake.

Frédéric Talgorn - DIE STORY VON MONTY SPINNERRATZ Zugegeben, das Cover, der Titel und die vielen Pop-Namen dürften abschrecken, aber wer schon einmal mit der Musik von Talgorn in Berührung gekommen ist, gibt diesem Album, das mittlerweile geradezu verramscht wird, eine Chance. Bei dem Film handelt es sich um die erste Kinoproduktion der Augsburger Puppenkiste, die teilweise vor Ort in Manhatten gedreht wurde, während die Studioaufnahmen in Bottrop (mit echtem Wasser!) entstanden. Für die Abenteuergeschichte komponierte Talgorn wie gewohnt eine groß dimensionierte Musik, deren schwelgerisches Hauptthema aus nur zwei Tönen entwickelt ist. Mundharmonika und Cembalo verliehen der Musik einen individuellen Anstrich, sind aber sehr schön in die Partitur eingearbeitet, die für die CD in vier Suiten mit immerhin 27 Minuten Laufzeit zusammengefasst ist. Es gibt noch ein schönes weiteres Thema für den indigenen Handlungsfaden, dramatische Momente, lyrische Passagen und etwas Mickey-Mousing, sodass einen diese Musik auf eine "fantastische" Reise mitnimmt. Genau das richtige für diesen kalten Sonntag.

Am 5. Dezember erscheint übrigens der Score zum zweiten Teil.

Am 21.11.2025 wurde die Filmmusik von Brian Tyler zum Film "Now you see me, now you don't" auf allen einschlägigen Streaming-Plattformen veröffentlicht. Informationen dazu, ob eine physikalische Veröffentlichung geplant ist, konnte ich nicht finden. Ich finde ein paar Tracks wirklich gut aber auf die Laufzeit von 73 Minuten trägt das ganze meiner Ansicht nach nicht. Ich kenne jedoch die Score zu den beiden ersten Teilen auch nicht.

Die Vorstellung einer Verbesserung der Audio Qualität durch künstliche Intelligenz klingt interessant und es dürfte durchaus im Bereich des Möglichen liegen (in den nächsten Jahren). Allerdings aktiviert sich mein ungutes Gefühl, wenn ich darüber nachdenke, dass eine KI unsere geliebten alten Scores „glattbügelt“, damit es besser klingt. Da dreht sich mir irgendwie der Magen um. Aber vielleicht liegt das auch an meiner allgemein eher ablehnenderen Haltung gegenüber KI. Aber vor allem: Irgendwie gewöhnt man sich ja auch an die schrabbige Audio Qualität der Aufnahmen und es würde dann doch etwas fehlen, wenn man das glattbügelt. Zahlreiche Neuaufnahmen alter klassischer Scores zeigen ja auch, dass Ben-Hur etc zwar toll mit moderner digitaler Technologie klingt, aber man meist dann doch eher zur Originalaufnahme greift

Nach den ikonischen Battlefield-Soundtracks (Battlefield 1 und Battlefield V) von Patrik Andren und Johan Söderqvist legt das Duo nun erneut ein Game-Album vor – diesmal jedoch mit deutlich elektronischerem Einschlag. Statt der gewohnt kraftvollen Orchesterwellen dominieren hier moderne Synth-Elemente. Das Ergebnis ist wieder einmal ein stimmiges, atmosphärisches und durchgehend unterhaltsames Werk. Mir gefällt es sehr gut! Gerne mehr von den beiden.

Snow Files of the Week: "Suite from The X-Files - Christmas Carol" (1998). Für diese Episode der fünften Staffel X-Akten komponierte Snow einen sehr berührenden, manchmal auch etwas düsteren Score. Aber so ist das wohl, wenn man Weihnachten mit Mulder und Scully feiert. Die Musik wurde zuerst auf einer Promo-CD veröffentlicht, zusammen mit Musik aus der Folge "Post-Modern Prometheus". Später erschienen Teile der Musik auf dem ersten 4-CD-Set von LLL. Ein Track der Musik befindet sich auch auf dem von BSX veröffentlichten Album "Music from The X-Files 20th Anniversary Celebration", welches auf 1.000 Stück limitiert ist. Dort sind auch weitere Stücke enthalten, die auf dem ersten LLL-Set waren. Allerdings handelt es sich hier um Neueinspielungen. Die Suite enthält sowohl Musik von der Promo-CD, als auch vom ersten LLL-Set. Viel Spaß beim Hören!
