Sollte hier wirklich nachgepresst werden, ist das Etikettenschwindel für mich.

Wenn ich mir eine limitierte CD kaufe gehe ich davon aus, das nur die angegebene Stückzahl von CDs auf dem Markt vorhanden ist.

Und 6000 oder 10.000 sind ebend nicht 3000.

Vielleicht hätte Intrada von Anfang an mit offenen Karten spielen sollen. Dann wäre es wahrscheinlich nicht zu einem so plötzlichen Sell out gekommen. Hat man aber nicht, da man andererseits die Lager leer haben möchte. Ich denke "ein bischen limitiert" geht einfach nicht. Ganz oder garnicht, alles andere ist wie Scoremaniac geschrieben hat Etikettenschwindel und damit wiederum alles andere als Kundenfreundlich.

ATTENTION! POLICY ALERT!!...

EXPLORERS is already just about sold out! We're not happy to see people get left out of such an exciting release. So we're arranging to quickly re-press an additional batch, enabling more people a chance to purchase the CD. So...

Effective immediately, Intrada plans on tweaking our limited edition model to have the quantity of CDs be more reflective of the demand. Golly!

The AFM historic rates policy remains in effect so these will, by definition, have a cap at 10,000 in any case. But our concern right now is avoiding sell-outs in 24 hours... or in this case, even less than that!!

We'll still produce limited editions, per se. If you folks love the title, we'll make enough to get around. BUT... there's always a but... the caveat will be that if you people have little interest in something we release (and we have plenty of limited editions that misfire) then we'll quickly drop that title from our active catalog and move on. As such, you may still need to make something of a quick decision on less obvious projects. Otherwise, you might check back in a few weeks to get a lowball item and it'll be gone. So we're going to keep some pressure on folks to prioritize. Our goal isn't to mothball the idea of limited editions. It's to avoid having people left out within the first day or two of release. When a limited edition sells really well, we'll make enough to meet your demand. When it slows down, we'll do the same. And if it just stalls, we'll cut it loose. YOU people get to be in charge!!

Bottom line. This is an experiment on our part to help get all of you folks who support this music a chance to get the releases you want. It's a window. It can't stay open for long, we still have licensing and AFM rules to play by. But it will allow us to make enough copies to meet your demands without overstocking... which would just sink our ship. And people who love to speculate will stay have a place in the strategy: we all will be guessing what the demand is on many titles anyway. If we're stuck with more copies than we'd like on something right off the bat... we'll delete it. And speculators may come out ahead. Personally, I'm saddened to see a title sell out instantly. Sure, I love the income. It's my livelihood. But I don't love seeing people lose out. So here's hoping this new limited edition policy at Intrada will help put you guys in the driver's seat on quantities.

This policy has no effect - obviously - on titles in which we are fortunate enough to control long-term licenses. Things like that will be in our catalog for the long haul: SILVERADO, TOMBSTONE, FIRST BLOOD, PATTON, THE WIND AND THE LION and so forth. We try to keep them around for generations, so to speak. Anyway, this is a dramatic change for the limited edition model we helped establish in the marketplace but perhaps we all may come out winners!

This goes without saying, I suppose, but this policy is an experiment. If it turns out that a lot of you folks buy titles like this JUST because they are limited, irregardless of the music, then we'll admit we shot ourselves in the foot. We'll put bandages on and follow your lead. Like I said, we're just trying right now to let YOU have some control. We understand that without you... there is no we.

Keine Frage Oliver, schönes Release und dazu expanded nur die Art und Weise wie mir die Info von Fake unter den Quark gemischt wird stört mich einfach. Ich glaube im Übrigen nicht, daß Fake damit den Verkauf von sogenannten Ladenhütern ankurbeln kann (Malone von Newman war so ein Fall). Da lob ich mir Kimmel, der in dieser Beziehung Kurs hält (und wohl auch muß bei der Limitierung seiner VÖ´s)

Die Art und Weise ist mir egal ... Hauptsache, die Soundqualität passt und ich bekomme mein Exemplar!

Ich wäre dafür, dass sie so viele CDs drucken (Limited hin oder her), bis ALLE Fans versorgt werden und zwar zu einem vernünftigen Preis!

Das habe ich den Intrada-Jungs schon vor einem Jahr vorgeschlagen, als SPACECAMP und PREDATOR innerhalb von Stunden ausverkauft waren.

Mit Hilfe von etwas Herumrechnen, einem sehr guten Freund und einem tollen Händler kann ich mir "Explorers" doch leisten, ohne mir überlegen zu müssen, auf welches meiner Organe ich vielleicht verzichten könnte .

Heißt, ist bestellt und wird nun sehnsüchtigst erwartet.

Und toll, toll, toll (!!!) dass das Ding nicht mehr limitiert ist

Intrada presents a 2-CD expanded edition of Jerry Goldsmith's Explorers (1985). The score is often a contradictory work: youthfully buoyant, melancholic, celebratory, slyly witty, bursting with energy and optimism and adventure, but also tinged with regret. As director Joe Dante recalled, “I put a very mournful temp score on the movie. I used Bernard Herrmann’s ‘Walking Distance’ music from The Twilight Zone ... and I remember Jerry saying, ‘Do you really want it to be this sad?’ I said I didn’t want it depressing but it’s a movie about dreams that don’t come true ... so there was a sense of loss about the movie that I wanted to get into it, but Jerry also managed to do a lot of bouncy stuff that made it a lot more fun.”

The original LP release from MCA records featured highlights of the score, but only focused on two of the score's many facets, primarily the adventure and later the quirky outer space setting of the final act. It's a bit deceptive, for it was the serious element of the score that was sorely missed the most on the vinyl release. Melancholy aspect notwithstanding, the album is a lot of fun: the music is packed with robust orchestral energy in the action, inventive electronic effects for the characters' dreams and soaring melodic sweep for the flight sequences. For the alien spaceship sequences, Goldsmith even adds colorful hip flavor to his musical mix. The score offers just about everything.

In 2011, Intrada released an expanded edition to encompass all aspects of the score. Now 15 years later Intrada has crafted a 2-CD set with the film score proper on CD 1. Bonus tracks have been moved to a second disc and then expanded to include a wealth of early alternate version of many cues. This is followed by the original MCA album program, including the vocals and all the original assemblies.

Explorers was director Dante’s follow-up to the 1984 smash hit Gremlins. The story involves three boys (played by Ethan Hawke, River Phoenix and Jason Presson) who construct their own spaceship under the influence of thought transmissions from an alien race. The boys convert an old Tilt-A-Whirl car into the “Thunder Road,” and testdrive the vehicle over their town, eventually flying it into outer space for an encounter with the aliens summoning them. But the extraterrestrials behind the alien technology turn out to be quite different than the boys expect.
