Die mussten an ihm ja richtig werkeln, denn auch von den Tattoos fehlt jede Spur, das war bestimmt eine laaange Arbeit, die wegzuschminken.. oder gibt es da andere Möglichkeiten, die für den Film verschwinden zu lassen?

Michael Bay will anstatt immer nur produzieren auch mal bei einem Horrorfilm die Regie übernehmen.

 

Michael Bay gehört zu den erfolgreichsten Produzenten Hollywoods. Doch der Transformers-Regisseur entwickelt nicht nur Sommer-Blockbuster, schließlich gründete er gemeinsam mit Brad Fuller und Andrew Form die Produktionsfirma Platinum Dunes. Die konzentriert sich ausschließlich auf das Genre des fantastischen Films. Heraus kamen Remakes zu The Texas Chainsaw Massacre oder Eigenentwicklungen wie der Thriller The Purge. Demnächst könnte es den Filmemacher auch selbst auf den Regiestuhl eines Genrevertreters ziehen: “Mir schwirrt da eine Idee im Kopf herum und ich hoffe, sie irgendwann umsetzen zu können. Ich liebe das Horrorgenre, denn der heimliche Star ist der Film selbst”, so Bay gegenüber Hollywood Reporter. Wann es so weit sein wird, steht aber noch in den Sternen geschrieben. Auch ließ Bay bislang keinerlei Details zu seinem möglichen Genrebeitrag durchblicken. Das Filmprojekt soll jedoch vollständig aus eigener Tasche finanziert werden, um die größtmögliche kreative Freiheit zu garantieren.

Es wird wohl wirklich sowas wie die weibliche Variante der Expendables geben...namens ExpendaBelles

 

A little over a year ago, news broke that Millennium Films, the company behind The Expendables and The Expendables 2, was working on a spin-off titled ExpendaBelles. It was also revealed that Avi Lerner, Mark Gill, Julie Kroll and Heidi Jo Markel would produce, with Trevor Short executive producing.

Now Lerner has revealed a bit more about the project to Standart (via Deadline). The producer told the site that Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz and Milla Jovovich are in talks to star in the movie, which will film in Bulgaria.

They quote Lerner as saying, "The action movie will be spectacular – and in nothing inferior to the three male movies of the "The Expendables." There will be battles, special and visual effects and stunts - the spectacle will be equivalent to what Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis and Jean Claude van Damme have done ... Two excellent screenwriters are already working on the picture. Now we are in search of a female director."

Those two screenwriters are Legally Blonde writers Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith. He added that the story will take place in Brunei - the ladies will be facing a villain in one of the richest countries of the world.

Lerner is also in negotiations with other actresses to play roles in the film.

Sam Raimi wird wohl die Regie bei "Army of Darkness 2" selbst übernehmen

 

Since we're all latching onto every bit of news regarding another Evil Dead film, here is a nugget of information for you to chew on.

Fede Alvarez, director of the Evil Dead remake, was asked by a fan if he would be directing Army of Darkness 2, a sequel which has picked up a lot of momentum on the rumor mill circuit this year. Alvarez replied: "Sam Raimi will!"

It's an obvious bit of information, given Raimi's enthusiasm about the notion of a sequel, but there you go. We'll see if this all works out. Bruce Campbell did a bit of chatting about Army of Darkness 2 recently, too. You can read about that here.

Schicken Cast versammelt Wayne Kramer zu seinem neuen Film .. u.a. Wiedervereinigung mit Alec Baldwin, mit dem er schon seinen für mich besten Film "The Cooler" drehte

 

Wayne Kramer has come aboard to direct Patrick Wilson and Alec Baldwin in noir mystery thriller Caught Stealing, written by David Hayter and based on the novel by Charlie Huston. Kramer's credits include The Cooler -- which also starred Baldwin -- and Running Scared.

 

Kirk D'Amico's Myriad Pictures will shop the project to foreign buyers at the upcoming American Film Market, which gets underway Nov. 6 in Santa Monica. Myriad is co-repping domestic rights with APA.

"I was blown away by the intensity and dark humor of Charlie Huston's debut novel when I first read it several years ago. Caught Stealing has all the ingredients for a heart-pounding thriller and I'm excited to be part of the great team that is bringing it to the screen," Kramer said.

Added D'Amico, "We are very excited to be working on this wild ride of a feature film with Wayne. His energy and his skill as a filmmaker make him the perfect director for this unique material."

Caught Stealing is the first book in Huston's popular Henry Thompson trilogy.
 
Wilson will play Hank Thompson, a hotshot high school baseball prospect turned unlucky alcoholic, going-nowhere bartender who mistakenly gets caught up in a bloody treasure hunt through New York City. It turns out that the cat Hank's neighbor left in his care is sitting on a secret. Hidden at the bottom of its cage is a key wanted by a sadistic cop (Baldwin), Russian mobsters, a Samoan hit man and a pair of psycho brothers who dress in leather gear.
 
Lost Rhino Films' Marcus Chait, James Carpinello and Wilson will produce. Paula Wagner is executive producing with Hayter and Myriad's D'Amico.

Myriad director of production and acquisitions Ari Haas brought the film to Myriad.

Oje, Muss das sein ?

This year's first White House action movie, Olympus Has Fallen, was a surprise success at the box office, taking in $161 million worldwide on a relatively modest budget.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, that success is now to be rewarded with a sequel, with plans afoot for terrorist-based mayhem in the UK with London Has Fallen.

The new film will revolve around a story following a plot to attack London during the funeral of the Prime Minister. Needless to say, we can expect explosions, and plenty of them.

Headline stars Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman are all in place to reprise their roles, as are supporting players Angela Bassett and Radha Mitchell, although director Antoine Fuqua is thought to be unlikely to return.

Millenium Films is currently aiming for a May 2014 production start date, with Katrin Benedikt and Creighton Rothenberger currently working on the script. Directors are currently being tapped, with a release date pencilled in for early 2015.

Gestern überraschte das Team hinter der erfolgreichen Tanz der Teufel-Neuauflage mit eindeutigen Aussagen zur geplanten Evil Dead-Fortsetzung. Doch was ist dran an dem vorzeitigen Rücktritt von Fede Alvarez und Co-Autor Rodo Sayagues? Offenbar nicht allzu viel, wenn es nach dem Filmemacher geht. Laut Alvarez seien die eigentlichen Aussagen falsch übersetzt worden: “Ich arbeite also nicht mehr als Evil Dead 2? Ziemlich ungroovy. Glaubt nicht alles, was ihr im Internet lest.” Handelt es sich also um ein großes Missverständnis? Alvarez weiter: “Rodo wollte lediglich sagen, dass wir Evil Dead 2 hinter Sam Raimis Armee der Finsternis 2 anstellen, der momentan einfach Vorrang hat. Unser Sequel zu Evil Dead ist aber ziemlich lebendig.” In nächster Zeit sollte man allerdings nicht mit der Rückkehr zur Hütte im Wald rechnen. Raimi (Drag Me to Hell) steckt in den letzten Zügen der Drehbuchvorbereitungen und könnte bereits im nächsten Jahr für ein Wiedersehen mit Tollpatsch Ash sorgen, der einmal mehr von Bruce Campbell verkörpert wird.

Zwei neue Serien bekommen eine Chance.. darunter die neue Serie "The After" von X-Files-Macher Chris Carter, vielleicht sogar mit Musik von Mark Snow, aber dazu ist noch nichts bekannt..

 

Das Internet-Kaufhaus Amazon und seine dazugehörigen Amazon Studios haben laut einer Meldung von The Wrap seine ersten beiden Piloten für eine Drama-Serie in Auftrag gegeben. Dabei handelt es sich um The After von Chris Carter (Akte X – Die unheimlichen Fälle des FBI) sowie Bosch, basierend auf der Detektiv-Reihe Harry Bosch von Michael Connelly (Der Mandant).

The After handelt von acht Fremden in einer apokalyptischen Welt, deren Leben sich aufgrund seltsamer Ereignisse kreuzen und die nur als Gruppe überleben können. Die Fremden, die zu Verbündeten werden, werden von Sharon Lawrence, Jamie Kennedy, Aldis Hodge, Andrew Howard, Arielle Kebbel, Adrian Pasdar, Louise Monot und Jaina Lee Ortiz gespielt. Weitere Einzelheiten wollte Chris Carter nicht verraten, er wäre sehr abergläubisch, wenn es um unfertige Projekte gehe. “Es ist doch viel spannender, wenn es ein Geheimnis bleibt”, so Chris Carter. “Sagen wir einfach, es geht um menschliche Schwächen, Möglichkeiten und Angst sowie um den Triumph des menschlichen Geistes.”.

In Bosch steht der unerbittliche LAPD-Detective Harry Bosch, der den Mörder eines 13-jährigen Jungen jagt, im Mittelpunkt. Zeitgleich wird Bosch jedoch angeklagt, kaltblütig einen mutmaßlichen Serienkiller getötet zu haben. Titus Welliver (Argo, The Town – Stadt ohne Gnade) wird den unerbittlichen Detective spielen, in weiteren Rollen sind Annie Wersching, Amy Price-Francis und Jamie Hector zu sehen. Das Drehbuch stammt von Michael Connelly, der seinen ersten Harry Bosch-Roman bereits 1992 veröffentlichte und sich sehr darüber freut, dass seine Romanfigur den Sprung auf den Bildschirm geschafft hat. Hilfe erhält Connelly von Eric Overmyer (Treme), der auch als Showrunner fungieren wird.

Amazon-Kunden können die Piloten von Bosch und The After im Frühjahr 2014 kostenlos ansehen und bewerten. Die Serie, die am meisten Zuspruch bekommen hat, wird dann exklusiv auf Prime Instant Video und dem britischen Ableger von Lovefilm zu sehen sein.

Bruce Campbell sagt, alle Infos über einen von Raimi inszenierten ARMY OF DARKNESS 2 sind nur Internet-Gerüchte ohne wahren Hintergrund.

 

 

It began with Rob Tapert.  The producer of the Evil Dead films hinted at an Army of Darkness 2 back in March when he was asked about the prospect of another entry in the Sam Raimi-directed series.  He stated the film - if there ever was another one - would not be Evil Dead 4, but Army of Darkness 2.  This set off a firestorm of rumors and hopeful rumblings that we might see Bruce Campbell play Ash one more time.

Later, at WonderCon, Evil Dead remake helmer Fede Alvarez and Campbell teased sequels, Army of Darkness 2 and a cross-over film.

But now, in spite of Campbell being quoted at a convention confirming AoD2 is in the works, now says it's all bullshit.

"It's all Internet b.s. - there's no reality whatsoever.  These random comments slip out of my mouth or Sam Raimi's mouth, next thing you know, we're making a sequel," he told our pal Erin Darling at Comikaze in Los Angeles (see the full video inside).

He goes on to talk about the spread of misinformation and how the Internet has blown it out of proportion and how he feels bad for the fans who are holding onto hope.

But this is where I have to disagree with Campbell: There are a handful of responsible sites - like Shock - that have only reported on Army of Darkness 2 when we're quoting either Campbell, Raimi, Tapert or Alvarez.  So, what's the issue here?  We're quoting YOU, Bruce.  We're following your lead so stick with a story.  (Also, it seems a tad suspect when Tapert retweets and favorites any news we run about Army of Darkness 2, leading me to believe the stories are close to some truth.)  Are we to assume all public discussion about the sequel has been just a joke?  If so, bummer, considering you know the rabid fanbase these films has.  Maybe we need a break - a break from reporting anything on these films until, as you say, something official comes from the production company...operated by you guys.

Darling went on to ask about the whole Fede Alvarez/Evil Dead 2 scenario that played out last week.  Campbell says Alvarez has moved on to another film.  Again, this is in spite of Alvarez taking to Twitter last week to say he's still on board Evil Dead 2, which is absolutely possible.  It just won't be the next movie he does.

While there’s nothing official on paper, nor a direction set in stone, Lionsgate is incredibly active in developing an eighth Saw, based on the franchise created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell, sources tell Bloody Disgusting exclusively.

The last time we saw Jigsaw in action was in the 2010 Saw 3D.

After a three year break, Lionsgate is back to their torturous ways and seeking a new direction for the franchise that took over Halloween for nearly a decade. Since its exit, Paranormal Activity has become the reigning champion of the month of October (sans this year).

There appears to be no rush on Lionsgate’s part as they’re seeking the perfect take to move forward. There were rumblings of a remake, while many insiders tell us they want to continue with Saw 8.

When something more solid comes into fruition, we’ll report back.

Robert Rodriguez bringt FROM DUSK TILL DAWN in Serie:

 

 

El Rey Network, in association with FactoryMade Ventures, today announced the production start of "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series," the first scripted original to air on Robert Rodriguez's new cable network, set to debut this December.

Based on his cult film of the same name, the supernatural crime saga will play out as an hour-long series that will premiere on the El Rey Network in the first quarter of 2014. The series began filming in Austin this week with Rodriguez set to direct the first two installments.

The 10-episode serialized drama, created, directed and executive produced by Rodriguez, will feature a principal cast including D.J. Cotrona (Dear John, G.I. Joe: Retaliation) as Seth Gecko, the role that famously launched the film career of George Clooney. Zane Holtz (Holes, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) stars as Richie Gecko, and Jesse Garcia (Quinceañera, "Sons of Anarchy") plays Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez, a new character created for the series. Don Johnson (Django Unchained, "Nash Bridges") will play Sheriff Earl McGraw in a recurring role.

“From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” is a supernatural crime saga centered around bank robber, Seth Gecko (Cotrona) and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard “Richie” Gecko (Holtz), who are wanted by the FBI and Texas Rangers Earl McGraw (Johnson) and Freddie Gonzalez (Garcia) after a bank heist left several people dead. While on an escape route to Mexico, Seth and Richie encounter former minister Jacob Fuller and his family who they take hostage. Using the family RV to make a run for the Mexican border, chaos ensues when the group detours to a strip club that is unknowingly populated by vampires, and forces them to fight until dawn in order to get out alive. The series deepens the tone of the film, adds new characters and backstories and expands the Mesoamerican mythology behind the vampires.

"If the movie’s the short story, the series is the novel," says Rodriguez. "We have assembled an amazing cast and crew, and viewers can expect to be part of a wild ride when the series premieres on El Rey Network next spring."

Rodriguez is joined in the Executive Producer ranks by Carlos Coto (who is also showrunner); and FactoryMade Ventures and El Rey Network co-founders John Fogelman and Cristina Patwa. Diego Gutierrez is writer and co-executive producer. The gritty look and feel of the series will be brought to life by production designers Steve Joyner and Caylah Eddleblute, set designer Jeff Adams, director of photography Eduardo Mayén and costume designer Nina Proctor. The special effects team will be spearheaded by Bob Trevino.

Miramax, producing studio and distributor of the original film, is distributing the series internationally in all territories with the exception of Canada, China, India and UK.
