La-La Land Records and MGM proudly present the restored and remastered re-issue of legendary composer Jerry Goldsmith’s original motion picture score to the 1985 big-screen action-adventure  KING SOLOMON’S MINES starring Richard Chamberlain and Sharon Stone, and directed by J. Lee Thompson. This limited edition 2-CD set marks the 40^th Anniversary of the film and its brilliant score, which has been meticulously restored, re-edited and re-mastered to shine like never before!

Bold, rousing and propulsive, Jerry Goldsmith’s original KING SOLOMON’S MINES score is an orchestral wonder in the grand cinematic adventure tradition. Heroics, romance, high-stakes drama and suspense – Goldsmith delivers big on all of it, all the while retaining his unique artistry and flourish.

Previous CD releases of this score have presented the music out of pitch – either too fast or too slow. This reissue finally corrects the issue, presenting the music in perfect pitch on disc for the very first time. Produced by Neil S. Bulk and mastered by Mike Matessino, this reissue boasts positively revelatory sound, with Disc One featuring the film’s “Score Presentation,” painstakingly edited to match the takes, where available, selected by Goldsmith and music editor Ken Hall, and Disc Two containing the “Original Soundtrack Album” and “Additional Tracks.”

The “Score Presentation” and “Additional Tracks” were sourced from new high-res stereo tape transfers and the “Original Soundtrack Album” was sourced from the original ¼” stereo tapes prepared by Mike-Ross Trevor, also newly transferred in high-res for this release. Limited to 1000 units, this special release includes exclusive liner notes by writer Jeff Bond and cracking art direction by Scott Saslow, featuring a reversible cover with alternate art!

Schade, schade! Zum ersten Mal seit über zehn Jahren keine CD für mich zu Weihnachten. Ist zwar ein guter Soundtrack, aber eine Erweiterung brauche ich davon nicht. Wieviel Goldsmith-Scores sind eigentlich noch übrig, die erweitert oder neu eingespielt werden können? Bestimmt nicht mehr als zwanzig.

Entschuldigt bitte die Ausdrucksweise , aber wollen die uns eigentlich verarschen ?! 
Nach FIRST BLOOD ist auch nun dieser Goldsmith ebenfalls „too slow“, „too fast“ zuvor immer gewesen ?? 
Ja super - mit diesem quatschigen Argument lässt sich seine gesamte Diskografie natürlich nochmal komplett neu verkaufen … wer’s glaubt..!!

…außerdem hat 2014 bereits Quartet Records eine grandiose Doppel-CD zu diesem tollen Score rausgebracht, die bereits vollständig war
