Ich freue mich riesig über das "Wiedererwachen" der BYU/SAE-Reihe und hoffe, da kommt noch mehr.

Carpenter produziert mit seiner Frau Sandy King eine Horror-Anthology-Serie namens "John Carpenter presents". Soll wohl sowas wie American Horror Story werden. Wobei sich Carpenters Part wohl mal wieder eher auf das Entgegennehmen des Schecks und das Hergeben seines Namens beschränkt Wobei: Es ist die Rede davon, dass Carpenter Einfluss hat auf die Geschichten und den Stil. Na ja, mal sehen.

Kam nun gestern an. Optisch schon hübsch aufgemacht mit dem Hologramm auf der Box. Ich habe die Scores nun länger nicht gehört, kam bisher aber auch nur zum Hören des ersten Albums. Aber ja, finde ich bis jetzt immer noch gut Carpenter hat mit der Hilfe von Cody und Daniel seinen Sound modernisiert, ohne seine musikalischen Markenzeichen zu verlieren.

Apropos Jack White: Auch Bernd Meinunger ist gestorben. Er war fast 50 Jahre lang der Texter für Ralph Siegel, hat aber auch für unzählige andere Künstler Texte geschrieben, unter anderem Peter Maffay, Drafi Deutscher, Nino de Angelo und Roland Kaiser. In den 90ern wirkte er unter Pseudonym auch an dem Eurodance-Projekt E-Rotic mit.

Max Steiner selbst hatte über die Jahrzehnte hinweg Hunderte solcher Azetat-Discs seiner eigenen Filmmusiken archiviert. Nur deshalb sind Veröffentlichungen wie diese jetzt ja überhaupt noch möglich. Ansonsten wäre das alles längst verschollen. Und einige dieser Azetate der Steiner Library, die sich im Besitz der Brigham Young University befindet, wurden eben über die Jahre öfters abgespielt als andere. Diese Azetate nutzen sich leider durch mehrmaligen Gebrauch viel schneller ab als ganz normale Platten. Deshalb ist es nicht einfach, das dann alles zu restaurieren. Die eigentliche Sensation bei dieser CD ist, daß Warner da überhaupt mal wieder mitmischt. Es sah ja lange Zeit so aus als ob bei älteren Titeln über die gar nichts mehr gehen würde. Obwohl es früher eine Selznick-Produktion war, liegen die Rechte für A STAR IS BORN in den USA ganz offensichtlich nur bei Warner.

Jack White hat sich kürzlich das Leben genommen, aber trauriger bin ich über den Tod von Klaus Doldinger. Neuerdings habe ich eine "Doldinger-Phase" und höre gerade im Wechsel rauf und runter "Das Boot" und "Die unendliche Geschichte". Das Boot kommt besonders gut, wenn ich morgens um 2 Uhr zur Arbeit fahre, alles dunkel ist, das Herbstwetter ungemütlich, alle anderen um mich herum noch im Bett liegen und auf den Strassen Ruhe herrscht.

Das hatte mich kurz irritiert, dass von einer neuen Publikation manche Discs bereits ein paar mal abgespielt wurden??? Ich dachte dann, die Alben wären aus einem Archiv und Second Hand… 😆

Fand den Film auch sehr interessant und gelungen. Das Beste aus Ridleys Spätwerken. Score war ja eher spärlich und passte.

Extreme Crisis - Akihiko Matsumoto Ich höre aktuell die Musik aus dem HK/Japan Actionthriller Extreme Crisis. Der Film ist ein The Rock/Stirb Langsam Klon und zwar nicht nur von der Story und Inszenierung her, sondern auch musikalisch. Vor allem wird sich bei The Rock bedient, stilistisch wie auch thematisch. Das ist ganz nett gemacht und funktioniert im Film recht gut. Leider ist der Score dort etwas leise abgemischt. 0:00 bis 4:39 ist Hummel Gets The Rockets 4:40 bis 8:20 ist Rock House Jail ab 8:21 ist das Garland Green Motiv aus Con Air zu hören 14.10 - 17:49 ist Chase aus The Rock, nur wird hier ein Shootout untermalt

FRANKENSTEIN, Alexandre Desplat Ich habe schon im Sommer viel gutes über Desplat’s FRANKENSTEIN gehört … umso gespannter bin ich jetzt darauf, die Musik im Zusammenspiel mit dem Film zu erleben .

Flatliners ist in der Tat auch für mich ein Highlight von Newton Howard. Sehr schöner Score.

It is one of the most bizarre-yet-beautiful Ennio Morricone scores composed during the busiest period of his career. The film is a weird co-production directed by Edward Dmytryck, produced by Alexander Saldkin, and starring Richard Burton, Rachel Welch, Virna Lisi, Nathalie Delon and Agostina Belli. The plot of the film is loosely based on a French folk tale about a nobleman whose last wife becomes curious when he tells her that she can enter any room in his castle except one. In that room, he keeps the corpses of all his previous wives, whom he has murdered. Ennio Morricone divided his score between the melancholic, the macabre and the parodic. One senses his intention to delve deeper into the psychology of the characters and to imbue the images with irony, moving from black comedy to bourgeois horror drama. The album of BLUEBEARD has been released several times on LP and CD since its first appearance in 1972 on the General Music label. Juhuu, endlich!

Kommt am 21. Oktober.

Oktober 2026 stand da schon immer. Roger Feigelson von Intrada wurde mal darauf angesprochen und meinte, dass es nur ein ungefähres Datum war, was seinerzeit angegeben wurde. Man hoffte und rechnete aber damit, früher mit der Produktion fertig zu werden. Was sich mit dem Dezember Termin wohl bewahrheiten sollte...

Schau mal unter Belohnungen. Dort steht es. Und ich meine, dass da zuvor Dezember stand...

Wie kommst du darauf? Habe gerade auf der Kickstarter Seite nachgeschaut - dort steht nichts von Oktober 2026 (zumindest konnte ich nichts finden) 🙈

Wenn ich es richtig verstanden habe, sind ja fast alle 'Arbeiten' an der Produktion abgeschlossen. Und wenn ich mich recht erinnere, sollten die CDs im Dezember verschickt werden!? Warum ist es jetzt so weit nach hinten geschoben worden (Oktober 2026)?
