Jennifer 8 ist tatsächlich DER Thriller-Score von Young! Suspense-Musik vom Feinsten, dazu herrlich düstere Pianomusik, einige sehr effektvolle Percussionstracks. Auch wenn das Album nur geringfügig länger ist, ist das für mich ein Must-Have! Und den Jarre gibts es noch oben drauf! Endlich mal eine LaLa Land für mich!

War auch musikalisch für Young die Vorlage für viele seiner Thriller-Scores danach, die sogar er scherzhaft dann als Jennifer 9 oder Jennifer 10 betitelt hat. Bin einmal gespannt, wie sich der Young-Anteil des Albums von der alten Milan-CD unterscheidet.

Ich muss auch zugeben, dass ich den SPEED Score sehr mag (war btw. der erst Score den ich mir gekauft habe und über den ich so richtig zur Filmmusik gefunden habe) aber ob da wirklich viel notwendiges neu hinzugekommen ist mag ich auch zu bezweifeln.

Jennifer8 klingt da schon interessanter. Besitze ihn bisher nicht, einige Hörprobe machen mich jedoch gespannt und da ich Christopher Young grundsätzlich mal etwas intensiver hören wollte, ist das vermutlich der perfekte Einstieg. Dazu noch der Rejected Score von Maurice Jarre, da gibt es noch ein weiteres Geschenk zum Geburtstag neben der F13th Box

Naja es war nicht als grundsätzlicher "Einstieg" zu Christopher Young, sondern zu dessen Werken die ich bisher nicht kenne. Eine ganze Reihe Werke (Drag me to Hell, Hellraisers, Haunted Summer, Species, Copycat, Flowers in the Attic, The Gift, Nightmare on Elm Street 2, etc) kenne ich ja schon, aber Jennifer8 und viele andere habe ich bisher nicht weiter beachtet, was ich zukünftig ändern will

Youngs JENNIFER 8 besitze ich jetzt schon fast zwanzig Jahre und mag ihn auch sehr, nur zu dem Preis wird ich mir den wohl nicht noch mal zulegen auch wenn Jarres abgelehnter Score dabei ist.
Bin mit der alten CD vollkommen zufrieden.

Also, ich hab mir Speed nochmals angesehen. Ich würde sagen, "gefühlt" ist der Großteil an "brumm brumm" synthie Musik schon auf dem derzeitigen Album drauf. Was fehlt sind wirklich ein paar nette Action-Sequenzen, in denen vokalem das Thema immer wieder vorkommt. Ich denke, bei den 30 Minuten "neuem" Material sind sicher auch einige Alternates dabei.
Man darf gespannt sein.

An atmospheric marvel of sonic textures and experimental approaches, Fielding’s chilling score truly is the stone-cold-heart of this classic hitman/apprentice tale. Aside from perfectly capturing action and suspense, Fielding’s score gives the film a depth and resonance beyond its celluloid. Aside from some audio enhancements, a slightly different track order and new packaging and liner notes, the audio content is the same as the Intrada release, so this re-issue is geared for fans who do not currently own that previous release. La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures presents a special 2-CD SET of two original scores to the 1992 Paramount Pictures motion picture thriller JENNIFER 8, starring Andy Garcia, Uma Thurman, and Lance Henriksen and written and directed by Bruce Robinson. Disc One features acclaimed composer Christopher Young’s (HELLRAISER, RUNAWAY JURY, THE CORE, DRAG ME TO HELL) original score – considered to be the composer’s breakthrough work in terms of scoring films for major studios. For this release, Young has re-visited his career-making score and has provided a new, magnificent 48 minute assembly – creating the ultimate presentation of his haunting and beautiful work, a melodic and atmospheric score that injects the film with suspense and human emotion. Disc Two presents renowned composer Maurice Jarre’s (LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, THE PROFESSIONALS, GHOST, A WALK IN THE CLOUDS) unused original score to the same film. Jarre scored about 75% of the film before his music was replaced with Young’s score.
