Schon am 30.12. erscheint Samurai Reincarnation von Hozan Yamamoto und Mitsuaki Kanno und am 20. Januar folgt ein Album mit Takeo Watanabes Scores für TV-Verfilmungen von Fällen des Meisterdetektivs Kosuke Kindaichi (The Kosuke Kindaichi Series 2: The Mummy Bride & Gokumon iwa no neck)

Silver Dream Racer von David Essex erscheint am 29. Januar bei Gonzo Multimedia auf CD.

Ja aber is ja trotzdem nich so, dass sich wer wie Beck oder auch Tyler groß irgendwie was für kaufen konnte. Glaube im mainstream sind nur wenige Scores von Marvel angekommen. Was bei der Menge doch erstaunlich ist.

Zum neuen Anime POUPELLE OF CHIMNEY TOWN gibts auf spotify den Score von Yuta Bandoh (u.a.)... streckenweise sehr rousing und wunderbarer Fantasybombast direkt ins Herz... allerdings auch ein paar Beiträge von anderen, die zwischen Drumloops und schrägen Sachen pendeln. Würde aber sagen der orchstrale Teil überwiegt. 

Film sieht auch toll aus, viel besser als der einfach nur durchschnittliche DEMON SLAYER (der ja nun alle Rekorde bricht und weltweit schon 400 Mille eingespielt hat... völlig ungerechtfertigt, der war schlicht eine triple TV Episode ohne Anfang und Ende, auch von der Animation nur TV Niveau... kurioserweise gibts das keinen Score zu, wahrscheinlich weil die Musik dazu nur Cues aus der Serie waren, anders kann ich mir das nicht erklären)...

Von GAD Records kommt am 29. Januar Adam Slawinskis Musik für das Drama Skok aus dem Jahr 1969.

Adam Sławiński’s music to “Skok” combines some summer-holiday lightness with lyrical musings. The film recounts the story of two friends who, after their failed maturity exam, decide to travel to the Baltic Sea in search for some rest, for a job and the meaning of life. This gave a lot of room for illustrative options, and Sławiński draws here from his fascination with jazz, crisscrossing lengthy, flowing phrases of trumpet or saxophone with subtle sounds of the string section. There is still room for lovely bossa nova with great flute parts and even for the instrumental version of the composer’s rock & roll song. “Skok” is a piece of psychological cinema with an action plot which impresses even today and is propelled into excellence by a stellar cast – with Daniel Olbrychski, Marian Opania and Małgorzata Braunek at the top of the list. Its soundtrack, composed by Sławiński, is a true jewel, which nearly fifty years later may finally shine in its full glow.

After a massively successful soundtrack for “Czterej pancerni i pies”, “Skok” is yet another fruit of a long-term partnership between CeTA and GAD Records set up to preserve and publish the wealth of former tape archives. You will find there lots of unreleased film music by Andrzej Korzyński, Piotr Hertel, Włodzimierz Nahorny, Jerzy Derfel and Wojciech Kilar.

heute ins Kino geschafft und mir Poupelle im Imax angeschaut... wirklich toller Anime, grandiose Animationen und Design, tolle Action und viel Herz. Als hätten Burton, Jeunet, Proyas und Spielberg einen Kinderfilm gemacht (eine Indiana Jones 2 Sequenz war sehr schön) ... die Musik war auch toll. Die Drumloop Sachen und so sind halt sehr fillmbezogen und sorgen auch für den ein oder anderen Lacher (speziell eine SuperMario Parodie im Bild war irre lustig). Das "Family" Thema geht gut ins Ohr (viertletztes Stück und der Song am Ende). Insgesamt gabs auch 4 Songs, von denen kurioserweise nur der Abspannsong auf dem Album ist. Die waren aber alle sehr schön eigentlich.

Spitzenfilm und die orchestralen Cues werden sicher ne ganze Weile in meiner Playlist laufen!

Gerade durchgehört. Schwungvolles Thema in hübschen Variationen und abwechslungsreiche Episodenmusik, die nie genutzt wurde. Warum wird im knappen Booklet erläutert. Klanglich prima, nur in Titel 10 eine heftige Übersteuerung. Wer auf 80er-TV-Musik mit Synthiebeimischung steht, wird hier bestens bedient (was man zur unterirdischen Serie (dt. "California Clan") nicht sagen kann) - und bei Joe Harnell kann man eigentlich nie was falsch machen (toll z.B. seine Easy Listening Alben der 60er, am bekanntesten: "Fly Me To The Moon And The Bossa Nova Pops").

Von Radmus Publishing kommt ein Doppelalbum mit Musik der Animationsserie Ulysse 31.

The Japanese composer Seiji Suzuki, who appeared under the credit of "Music Supervisor" also composed a few original cues which are present on this edition.

For this 40th anniversary release, the soundtrack has been mastered from newly found master tapes and supplemented with new material that includes some alternate Saban/Levy song versions, different vocals on the Crockett/Egan songs, and some previously unreleased Crockett/Egan cues. Da bin ich hin und her gerissen: Wäre es ein Soundtrack nur mit der Musik von Seiji Suzuki und maximal dem Titelsong, hätte ich das Album gekauft. 

Und CD 2 mit Soundeffects-only hätte ich nicht unbedingt benötigt.

Trotzdem schön, dass in 2021 noch so tolle Funde von Cartoonmusik entdeckt und veröffentlicht werden.

Bei einem Album zur TV-Serie MASK wäre ich sofort dabei.

In Japan erscheint im Februar die komplette (?) Musik zu KIRIN GA KURU (NHK Epic Drama) auf 6 CDs - Komponist: John Graham.

Die Hörproben aus den früheren KIRIN GA KURU CDs waren jetzt nicht ganz mein Fall, deshalb wohl nichts für mich. Neben dem 6-CD-Set gibt es ja wie angedeutet bereits diverse andere VÖ hierzu - hier ein Bsp.-Track aus dem bereits 2020 veröffentlichten Vol. 1:

zum gelinde gesagt wilden, und letztlich sehr zusammenhangslosen Genremix und einem Quasiremake der vielleicht bekanntesten TWILIGHT ZONE Folge hat die Neuseeländerin einen Carpenteresquen Synthie Score geschrieben...

 

gefällt mir gut, für das Setting im zweiten Weltkrieg und so nem Monster ein recht ungewöhnlicher Ansatz... wie so alles in dem Film ein wilder Mix und Clash von Stilen, Ideen und Inhalt, das am Ende nicht zusammenpasst, aber für sich genommen doch viele Teile sehr unterhaltsam sind... immerhin hat mal wer versucht etwas anders zu machen.

Ich kenne zwar den filmischen Teil dazu nicht und höre den Song hier jetzt nur über deinen Vorschlag @ronin1975, aber ich muss sagen, der Track nimmt mich ganz schön gefangen! Ich kann mich nur anschließen an deine Aussage über den wilden Mix der Stile, aber ich mag gerade dies ungewöhnliche, das ein wenig unpassend zusammengewürfelt wirkt. Es sticht eben aus der Masse hervor und ich mag auch die "unsanften" Übergänge. Ich kenne wie gesagt die Folge, bzw auch Serie nicht, aber "zweiter Weltkrieg und Monster" klingt ziemlich passend für diesen Song.

PLOT During Fascism Guido Maldini, manager of the property on behalf of his cousin Floriana, lives in a ranch in the Po valley with Anna, his wife, their children Alberto and Elisa and the maid Aida. Dispotic and violent, Guido exercises his power, without any sign of faithfulness nor devotion, on his wife and children. Once every two weeks he goes to the nearest brothel, he even forces Anna to do humiliating sexual practices. He also despises Alberto, young shy and sensitive boy, judging him spineless and coward. After trying multiple times to escape from home, the boy - who even tried to shoot his father – seems to find peace when his cousin Gloria comes to the ranch, planning a getaway to Milan together. PLOT In a world devastated by epidemic, humans seek refuge outside the cities. Pursued by armed groups called "executors", the protagonists end up in an old fortress apparently abandoned: instead they will find something that goes beyond their worst nightmares.

ABOUT BASEMENT’S GLARE The project began shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic exploded. Following the restrictions caused by the imposed isolation, Basement's Glare have recorded and released their first single, Red Zone, which deals directly with the issue of social distancing and its consequences. Subsequently, the duo decided to complete the recordings of the eponymous EP as previously scheduled, working mostly remotely. Basement's Glare are composed by Riccardo Adamo and Daniele Marinelli as stable members, and by various session musicians. The collaboration turned out to be so fruitful and satisfying that the duo decided to cement it, opening musical horizons and making Basement's Glare an all-round musical project, with no limits of musical genre or intended use. The official soundtrack composed for the film "Flesh Contagium" is forthcoming.

Wichtig und überraschend in dem Zusammenhang: Es ist das erste Mal seit mehr als einem Jahr, daß Digitmovies mit den beiden Fusco und Fidenco-Titeln überhaupt mal wieder was aus dem CAM-Katalog bringen darf. Es scheint wohl einen neuen Deal oder eine Einigung mit Sugar gegeben zu haben, was zumindest für die Zukunft ein wenig Hoffnung macht.

Der Fusco I COSACCHI ist für mich eindeutig das CD-Highlight der letzten paar Wochen und eine wirklich sehr erfreuliche Sache. Ich gehe eigentlich fast davon aus, daß auf der CD mehr Musik ist als im Film selbst, der beileibe nicht Wall-to-Wall untermalt ist und weitaus weniger als 70 Minuten enthalten dürfte.
Die Track-Sequenzierung sieht mir übrigens nicht besonders chronologisch aus, da viele der Tänze und das Zigeunerlied, das auf der CD ziemlich weit hinten erscheint, in einer längeren Ballsequenz im Film nacheinander gespielt werden. Dagegen erscheinen diese Tänze auf der CD nun aber weit verstreut.
Es gibt zwar ein paar dramatische Schlachtsequenzen, aber wie üblich ist Fuscos Musik natürlich zum Großteil auch recht eigenwillig gestaltet mit vielen solistischen Passagen und einem Orchestersatz, der oft auf Transparenz bedacht ist.
Da die US-Labels momentan eh so gut wie keine Golden Age-Scores aus dem Abenteuer/Historien-Film-Genre mehr bringen, ist es natürlich umso erfreulicher, daß wenigstens in Italien diesbezüglich noch was gemacht wird. Viele Sammler werden das nicht kaufen, das ist klar, insofern ist es überaus lobenswert, daß sich Digitmovies entschlossen hat, von I COSACCHI wenigstens doch noch 300 Exemplare pressen zu lassen.
Interessanterweise ist das sehr schöne slawische Liebesthema, das sich durch die komplette Partitur in mannigfaltigen Variationen zieht, recht eng verwandt mit dem Andrei-Thema aus Waxmans TARAS BULBA (dort vor allem in "Birth of Andrei" zu hören), der aber erst zwei Jahre später entstanden ist. Es ist bereits im Mittelteil des Main Titles ab Minute 0:59 zu vernehmen:
